After a few committed months of hot yoga at a studio in New York, Christina Rice had found her niche. So when the studio announced that it was offering teacher training, she signed right up. It was only when she arrived with her mat that she noticed something striking. There were 54 other women and men in the 10-week course, and not one of them looked like her. Where I live, they seek out the all upscale places and things (like trendy supermarkets and CrossFit ) and will drive several miles out of their way to experience the civility and civilization afforded by white people, and which is not afforded by their own people.
To these ladies, most likely you are poor.
It's not the indigent or homeless that they're trying to avoid.
It's ordinary people who can afford a gym membership.

I understand your sentiment; it is ridiculous. Why don’t they apply the same standard to academic pursuits instead of just recreation?

If black people want to congregate, with their own churches, graduation ceremonies, fraternities, clubs, neighborhoods, you name it, what is wrong with places frequented by white people? Can’t ANYBODY have those rights?
Why is Diversity only a holy goal for groupings of white people? Why are Persian markets filled with people from Iran? Why are Mexican shopping centers in LA filled with people from Mexico? Why are there so many Japanese in Mitsuwa market? Why does anyone care? How come I can handle being the only white person in any of the above places without feeling that there is a LACK or a PROBLEM without more white people like me?
Maybe I’m doing it wrong but I don’t feel that I need other pale people around to better understand me. The people who better understand me are conservatives of all creeds and colors.
And in the article they griped about age. Jeez. Go to a loud, pulsing nightclub. Be shocked that there is no diversity of age. No over 80s and few over 40s. Is anyone shocked that some youthful workout club doesn’t have every age range in it? Doesn’t granny like working out to rap?
