If they aren’t obese and their indicators are fine, why shame them about what they eat?
I can’t stand all these healthier-than-thou types who want to virtue signal everyone about the way they eat or exercise. Just shut the hell up. Us “regular people” don’t want to hear about it.
I read this, initially, as "The Men Who Eat Little Boys", and I slapped my forehead, thinking .... oh Lord, not another pedophilia article.
"This chicken has bones in it! I can't eat this!"
Shaking my head.....
I had a neighbor just like that. Even on Thanksgiving and Christmas, he would only have either a cold cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich. He just couldn't eat meat. But he was a tough old bird ... he taught me everything that I wanted to learn about construction, electrical wiring, and plumbing.
Okra fried, okra boiled, and I like it pickled also.
My aunt would cook in with her peas when I was a child and that was good also.
Well then you spoke the truth; you will eat anything.
;)
I see you are in Georgia also. I will eat spinach raw in a salad but I do not care for it cooked although I love collards, turnips, mustard greens, and any other green that exists I guess. I am old school south when it comes to food, rutabaga, any bean or pea known to man, sweet potatoes or yams, corn in any fashion but on the cob or creamed straight from the cob is best, squash in any form, honestly cannot think of any normal southern staple I would not eat. I am sure they may be a vegetable that I am not familiar with that I may not like the taste of it but have no idea what it is.
Just for the record I like roasted and boiled peanuts also.
On the other hand when I comes to meat I prefer beef, pork, and chicken is ok. Do not care for fish (although I like shellfish) nor game meat.
I dunno about EEE, but youll pry me Lucky Charms from my cold, dead cereal bowl. :)
I like everything you mentioned with the exception of okra. I had stewed okra in tomatoes with literally gourmet seasoning, and I liked that. Otherwise, okra is a scourge (to me). But all the greens—including cooked spinach—I love all that. Mild fish is great; fishy fish—yuck.
:)
I watched The Simpsons last night. That is more like an adult cartoon.
Exactly. Animation is a medium, not a genre.
Bones. Natures silverware.
I love meat on the bone, ribs anyone? =)

I’ve got news for this reporter. A lot of men and woman in their 20s, 30s and 40s eat like kids. They don’t cook. They go out to eat all the time. If they eat at home, its a semi-prepared meal. They just don’t put the time and effort into making a traditional mea that requires more effort than putting it in the microwave.
I love lima beans. Frozen, and the Fordhooks, not those hard little baby limas.
Cook until tender, drain and serve drowned in butter. It doesn’t hurt to break the skin a little so the butter absorbs into the meat of the bean. Add a little salt. Yum!
But don’t serve me those canned things. Ever!
Pizza looks a little flaccid.
One can cook a perfectly balanced and healthy meal in the microwave using frozen vegetables.
Frozen meat dish: 10 minutes
Baked potatoes: 8 minutes
Frozen vegetables: 6 minutes
Using two microwaves, the whole thing is done in 15 minutes. Beats the heck out of McDonalds.
Every vegetable even cooked kale out of a can (you know the stuff your elementary school slopped onto your tray next to the “mystery meat”!) is edible with enough mustard!
Mustard solves all cuisine problems!
I learned this from my sainted Mother!
Only potatoes.
I can handle sweet potatoes... in moderate portions. ;-)
