I like the pre prime directive galaxy of ‘Enterprise’. Not crazy about Bakula’s acting, but Captain Archer worried little about the bad guy’s feelings being hurt or what the Vulcans thought of his management style.

So next to Kirk…I’ll go with Archer.

In the very first episode of TNG. Picard surrenders the Enterprise. Kirk would have blown it up using Corbomite.

Kirk would take Picard’s lunch credits in a game of Fizbin.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment about Space X, but it's no reason to be rude about it. It is common in this forum to use the tagline to enter comments outside of the posted subject.

You did not do that and I interpreted that your comment was linking Bezos to Space X.

My reply to you was ment to be informative, but some how you considered it a slam.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Now now we aren’t talking Chuck Norris here. ;-)

Kirk was the Chuck Norris of Star Trek captains. :-)

I dunno but:
Picard grew up on a quaint little French vineyard, squishing grapes with his toes, while Kirk slung bails of wheat and hay in Iowa to put himself through school.
Kirk emphasizes his orations with pertinent hand gestures.
Picard allows cats on board, while Kirk beams away even really cute things, like Tribbles.
Picard hasn’t fathered any children; Kirk — probably millions.
If there was ever a Klingon on Kirk’s bridge, Kirk would likely be dead.
If Kirk finds a strange spinning probe, he blows it up.
Kirk doesn’t test the engines — he just fires them up.

Bezos married his hot wife in 1993, when he was 29, she was 23 and worked for him at a hedge fund. This was before he founded Amazon. He was high-income but not absurdly rich at the time.

I have to agree, Kirk was best. I was 7 when I first saw TOS on the BBC back in 1969 and loved it.

When the much-anticipated TNG came out in the late 80s I was horribly disappointed with the dull, crap plots and the fat cow Enterprise D. In the intervening years I'd played a lot of Star Fleet Battles and Star Trek RPG and wanted starship-to-starship combat, not boring diplomacy on a beige bridge.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and crew are the equivalent of a lounge full of administrators and teachers at a college.

Wesley Crusher? His mom and Picard did a good thing when they abandoned him on a planet full of indians.

Capt Kirk would win any fight be it mental or physical.
He has defeated computers and Klingons and Romulans and KHAN.

Picard? He holds a meeting and drinks his Earl Grey tea.

Kirk would be a redneck Jedi;

You might be a redneck Jedi if...

  1. You ever heard the phrase, "May the force be with y'all."
  2. Your Jedi robe is a camouflage color.
  3. You have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.
  4. At least one wing of your X-Wings is primer colored.
  5. You have bantha horns on the front of your land speeder.
  6. You can easily describe the taste of an Ewok.
  7. You have ever had an X-wing up on blocks in your yard.
  8. You ever lost a hand during a light saber fight because you had to spit.
  9. The worst part of spending time on Dagobah is the dadgum skeeters.
  10. Wookies are offended by your B.O.
  11. You have ever used the force to get yourself another beer so you didn't have to wait for a commercial.
  12. You have ever used the force in conjunction with fishing/bowling.
  13. Your father has ever said to you, "Shoot, son come on over to the dark side...it'll be a hoot."
  14. You have ever had your R-2 unit use its self-defense electro-shock thingy to get the barbecue grill to light.
  15. You have a confederate flag painted on the hood of your landspeeder.
  16. Although you had to kill him, you kinda thought that Jabba the Hutt had a pretty good handle on how to treat his women.
  17. You have ever accidentally referred to Darth Vader's evil empire as "them damn Yankees."
  18. You have a cousin who bears a strong resemblance to Chewbacca.
  19. You suggested that they outfit the Millennium Falcon with red wood deck.
  20. You were the only person drinking Jack Daniels on the rocks during the cantina scene.

Kirk by far!

He was awesome as a "leader".

Kirk was the "id" Spock was the "ego" and McCoy was the "superego".

When making tough decisions as the captain, he often would listen to Spock's opinion, McCoy's opinion, then consider the best option.

Which usually ended up being right.

But Kirk was the ultimate "decider".

A much more interesting character than Picard.

Old Jim Boy is one of us indeed! Me... and Wick here drank a bottle of Romulan ale and a case of Lone Star with him just last night--

Believe he's over at his hooch having some hair... of the dog.

Spock was a capable captain, but he was often too logical and calculating.

Kirk trusted him in the captain's seat while he was away, but only for temporary situations.

He also trusted Scotty, when he and Spock were away.

Even Sulu was given a couple of chances.

Notice that Kirk never let McCoy command, even though he out-ranked Sulu.

I think that McCoy didn't WANT to be put in that position.

The only time I remember McCoy making a command decision was when Spock asked to be put under arrest, and even then McCoy reluctantly confined him to quarters.
