You’re welcome! One thing that helped me was I built a small memorial in his little yard with solar lights, little angels, and a dwarf weeping cherry tree. I couldn’t bear the thought of a grave so I had him cremated and I keep his little box and his clay footprint on the coffee table. Building the little memorial helped me a lot! My kids had a beautiful wooden sign made with his date of birth and death to put on the post at the memorial. I had to put a little fence around it because the three Feists puppies I have now would bother it and I’m not allowing that.

Whatever you and your wife need to do to help with the grief is OK. When you stop crying, look for another pup that needs you. I didn’t want to get another one because I couldn’t face losing another one in the future but my granddaughter said that any dog I gave a home would get a better home than they would get otherwise. It really helps with the loss. I ended up with three puppies, all siblings. :-)

We have always done it fairly soon after one passed. That may be too painful for some. Only your household knows the answer.

I believe we'll wait for a month then go get another sweetie who will love us completely ......... then the other side of life.

God loves poochies........ I just wish he/she would have considered giving them a longer life for us human lovers.

My older dog, a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Lab, Golden, and Cocker Spaniel, just turned 13, so I’m going to feel the same pain in the not too distant future. My younger dog, an 8 year old Great Dane, is doing quite well, so I have several more years with him.

We had to put our two dogs to sleep on Feb 11th. We’re still not over it. At times we feel like OUR lives are over. They were so much of our daily lives for 14 years. God be with you, my fellow animal lover. I pray for your healing. And I believe, as Will Rogers said, “All dogs go to Heaven.”. You will see Molly again one day. And we’ll see our Booby Boy and Girly Girl.
