“(Untied spelled purposely)”
We did something like that to several United Van Lines rigs years back when I was working for another moving company (which shall remain unnamed).
Agreed. I’d rather get a $20 gift card than $20 crappy item I can’t use or exchange.
I saw a flight line truck with the Untied logo on it that had it spelled like that. Funny.
Reminds me of Ethiopian Idol:
Ethiopian Idol
Don’t miss the finale of Ethiopian Idol, as the last contestant standing, after months of brutal begging for food resulted in death by starvation of one candidate a week, receives a comb.
That is absolutely pathetic, I am very sorry to hear that. No one should be treated like that.
Screwing their employees yet again
Whoever came up with this idea ought to be fired
The twit that made that decision needs the pink slip by tomorrow morning.
What an embarrassment to United!
I know I may be blasted for saying this but thank god, for Emirates and Eithad airlines, there is a reason they are among the best in the world, though sad to say they are not American owned.
Everybody gets a scale model of a 747
bearing the “United “ logo.
Continental Airlines was a good place to work; the staff were happy, the customers were happy. United bought them, and literally everything has nosedived.
I would, upon being told of this plan, immediately find another job elsewhere. Ridiculous.
What little I ever heard of life at Continental was usually good.
I worked as a ME for a hotel chain for 17 years. When I started with them they awarded prizes to all the employees when goals were met. I received prizes like a brief case, a nice clock, insulated drinking cups and all kinds of good stuff. Then they changed it to contests where money prizes were awarded. Neither me or any of my fellow employees ever saw a dime.
Not even close. United took over in the merger. I flew Continental frequently, including overseas, and it was fine. Not spectacular, but good. United has a union attitude and has screwed up the frequent flier program. I’m flying Frontier and similar airlines now. For domestic travel they do a good job, and the cost is amazingly low.
YRCW did this to my wife. She took 2 pay cuts to save her job with a promise that they would be reinstated later. She is in a union.
Also they gave out stock options for later. Before the stock options could be used, they legally made them worthless and she has still not gotten the 15% back.
Makes one wonder if they want to fly an airline with so many unhappy employees. Believe me the airlines isn’t the only one pulling this crap.
My employer's been cutting benefits; I'm actively looking for my next job.
