Im a big advocate of concealed carry and compete in action competition matches, but concerned about Susie Schoolteacher unholstering a Glock filled with 25 screaming kids. Active or retired military, US Marshal-type trained resources would be my choice.

One way to avoid armed teachers from being copshot is to have them work stark naked.

It’s not about arming school teachers. It’s about stopping the disarming of the ones that want to be armed.

Too many of these stories. Philandro Castle in the car, that guy in the (Arizona?) Wal-Mart, the guy trying to knee-walk down the hotel hallway with his hands up, and now this guy, and others of course.
I’m starting to wonder if I find myself in that situation that I should just run for my life or pretend I don’t speak English or I’m deaf or something.

First, we’re not talking about arming “all” teachers. And, secondly, I would hope, hope to Heaven above that teachers who do arm themselves are trained on what to do when the cops arrive so they don’t get shot themselves.

Relying on the police in an emergency is fine if you have 15-20 minutes to wait.

So, a civilian can play with guns, but can not be trusted to use them in defense?
I get what you are trying to say, but this idolatry of police and military is as destructive to the Second Amendment as any gun grabber. I was a submarine electrician. By your standards, that prepares me to guard children, but 30 years of concealed carry and weekly practice as a civilian does not.
Or do you only mean combat vets? The ones with PTSD?

Even a boot-licker wouldn’t try that as a rebuttal.
So they thought our hero was the bad guy, and they were wrong. Your premise is accepted. Now we get to to the piss-poor “police work”: They told him to put the gun down, he started to put the gun down, and they shot him.

When they are not cowards, they shoot first. Shame on them not understanding what was going on before pulling the trigger.

And if you have 15 or 20 minutes to spare, one has to wonder how much of an emergency it was to begin with.

“This sounds like BS to me. After he shot the guy with all the people around he would have holstered his weapon. Very unlikely the police were already there and mistook the situation.”
Maybe if you tried reading, you would understand what happened.
NOWHERE does it say he had his own gun, it was the perps gun and he hesitated putting it on the ground. So yeah, it sounds like the cops were a little trigger happy.

This is why I use a "Don't Shoot Me" security sash when working church security.
LINK. Worth every penny of the $32 cost compared to friendly fire from LEO.
