My father, grandfather and great grandfather all attended Harvard. I am sure they would not have given so generously knowing how it is being run. They didn’t give Kennedy money but it wasn’t just a $100 a year either.

His mother escaped the Holocaust and his father’s family escaped the pogroms of Eastern Europe.

That means his ancestors didn’t own slaves, and were most likely working class, Yiddish speaking immigrants who came to the US with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
