I see one crossing arm in your second photo. Part of it is showing to the right of the closest fireman. Are we to presume that arm had already been replaced prior to this photo having been taken ?
Its very likely. In my area, they can replace an arm in less than an hour. . . It takes only a few bolts. . . and they cant open a controlled crossing without the arm in place. Heck, they can replace the entire crossing arm mechanism, arm, lights, bell, and all in a few hours. Theyre interchangeable and they get hit regularly. Theyre designed to be bolted on a foundation.
