Elon Musk posted a new image of the old Tesla Roadster his rocket company Space X is using as a dummy payload on the maiden flight of its Falcon Heavy rocket, and it now has (whats hopefully) a dummy wearing one of the companys prototype space suits in the drivers seat.

I think Musk is having an inside joke and paying a little Homage to the movie Heavy Metal.
“for as much Taxpayer dollars he has got to prop up his electric car business, he should be in the car himself. Without the Gov. money, he would fold like a deck of cards.”
If Musk’s companies were the only ones receiving various government incentives, you’d have a point.
Instead, he’d be stupid to not take advantage of them, giving his competitors an edge.
Much of what he’s received has been in the form of guaranteed loans, which he’s largely paid back.
It would be cool if David Bowie’s ashes were in the space suit. Millions of years in the future some new species or civilizations would find it and say, WTF!
People on Reddit say cars are already parking at the viewing locations.
I told this to my wife. She said it would be utterly hilarious if there was some way that SoaceX could have made the car tow the satellite it was launched on.
Imagine the sight... A Tesla Roadster towing a satellite in space. That’d be good for some laughs.
Once the fairing(sp?) comes off it will look like that. The roadster will be sitting at the front with spaceman in the seat.
Yep, it was filling up yesterday. I suspect there is nothing left for viewing.
