Good for you. I wish my parents and my brother-in-law had the fortitude to do that. My BIL just killed himself with booze. Very tragic.
So if I start now, I can react to Groundhog day?
"I thought he was in Pre-Law?"
"What's the difference?"
You would be amazed at the amount of people who couldn’t go a day without a drink let alone a month. Same people would get angry and defensive if you suggested they have a problem with drink.
Heretic ! Misbelieverrrrrr!
Thanks!
Yeah unfortunately, about all we can do for them is pray for strength, and beyond that it has to be their life to live.
I have an old fishing buddy that wanted in on that same bet after the fact... friends 33 years now, who never stopped either and now admits to being up to 2 handles (that is 3.5 litres, almost a gallon I think) of cheap bourbon a week. He told me that after opening his cabinet and seeing 4 of them sitting there... he said he always wants 2 in reserve in case the shit hits the fan, that gives him an extra week. LOL, no drinking problem though, its all under control... Sad, He is a functional alcoholic that gets up and goes to work every day. I cant argue with him much, unless I want to lose a friend, he knows it all and has way more in the bank than I do so he is doing fine, so what the hell do I know...
Yesterday I was drinking a Coppola claret. :-)
Ive never heard of brewers droop. Is it like shrinkage?
