“Brewer’s droop”

LOL

Is that what happens after the “Beer Goggles” kick in?

Doctor Parkinson declared ‘I’m not surprised to see you here
You’ve got smokers cough from smoking, brewer’s droop from drinking beer
I don’t know how you came to get the Betty Davis knees
But worst of all young man you’ve got Industrial Disease’

-Mark Knopfler

Yep, me too. The last drink I had was on 12/22 (one margarita). Then go back to Thanksgiving, I think I had a couple glasses of wine. Before that, probably have to go back to September when we were on a trip.

For one thing, we almost never eat out. And we never buy or keep alcohol at home.

So it is pretty easy.

(Disclaimer: My mother died of alcoholism-related causes at age 63, and my ex-husband died of alcoholism-related causes at age 56.)

LOL...memories on FR are amazing. How in the world did you dredge up the old Industrial Disease song with “brewer’s droop” in the lyrics?

I’ve heard of “Betty Davis eyes,” but not knees.

I really look forward to a couple of light beers at the end of the day. I’m like a dog in the sense that I want to be rewarded for my good behavior. Of course, I’m also like a dog in that I want to be rewarded for my bad behavior. :-) As with all things, moderation is the key.,

* This is Us (also with Emmylou Harris)

I think Brewers droop is a fancy way to say, “Whiskey Di*k.”

That whole album with Emmylou Harris was great. My favorite track was “All The Roadrunning”. I can’t think of any of his work I didn’t like ... The soundtrack to Princess Bride was astonishingly beautiful.

a booze free month was all it took for me to quit drinking 30 years ago now... I highly recommend it for ANYBODY that drinks regularly!

I was up to well over a case a night on the weekends and at least a 12 pack every night between... My room mates bet me (a keg of all things) that I could not quit drinking for a month. I won, they bought the keg and I woke up hung over the next morning and was done with it for good.
