Agree, but I was referring to the other “thing” in the picture.

I think those two films qualify as Box Office Flops.
A lot of budget money has never recovered.
The Beaver had a basic storyline as such: “A troubled husband and executive (Mel Gibson) adopts a beaver hand puppet as his sole means of communication.”

Both creative and dull.
I passed on it. It was good to see Mel Gibson get a movie role after years of being shut out of Hollywood.
I didn’t think casting Jodie Foster as Mel’s wife was believable.

Wow, Al Franken has to dress up in drag to hang with Jodie. Fascinating...

I agree with her to a point on this.

I don’t like her but she does have a point.

I bet it is difficult to get good movies made with tv shows being so good and so much better to watch. Even watching films is better at home. Better bathroom breaks, better snacks, cleaner (hopefully). Going to a movie theater where you don’t have the comfort and control is really only for people who aren’t comfortable with screen entertainment at home. Maybe people who are not too personally acquainted on dates. Young kids in groups who don’t want to be under mom’s watchful eye. Everyone else would have more fun in someone’s home.

Actually in my house it is the under 24s who go to the most movies. They hang with their friends, or they “can’t wait” for something exciting to be found online. Or they are on a date where they can’t invite them to their bedroom to watch...

OK , Jodie Foster just another wack Hollywood Liberal who decries the system in which she established herself a a major player ,
after acting in Fracking Movies for the 45 years ?
A Little Too Little ... a Little Too Late.

There are some fiery scenes, for sure, but I don't think too much swearing at all if any. Swearing doesn't bother me, but if it is gratuitous it does.

He does say sh!t at one point. I just remembered that. And there is a scene where he's getting very worked up over Hitler...he calls him a monster and a savage, and other things the audience can't make out, but if there is anything other than the sh!t, I can't recall it. *Very* mild compared to most things you will see today. Dunkirk was not very curse-filled either, if at all. Very refreshing for a war movie.

Teddy Roosevelt: also a progressive and a hero of the Never Trumpers and RINO’s in general.

Foster is just whining here. With the advent of Internet offerings like Netflix and Amazon, there has never been a better time to create movies based on original screenplays and stories. The superhero movies are in many ways an insurance policy for big studios who are losing shit loads of money on many projects to upstarts like Amazon, Hulu, HBO, etc. The consumption of entertainment is changing impacting the movie going public that is very democratic and liberating giving more choice to consumers how they want to spend their entertainment dollars. BTW Jodie, weren’t you involved with Elysium?

[Give it a rest. Try telling a STORY.]

I concur overall. However, the last time I went to a theater it was basically a free for all with screaming, cell phones and volume that would blow your ears off. I honestly don’t think its conducive to getting into a complex storyline.

I don’t believe the millennial population especially is really into quiet and deep storylines. They don’t have the attention span. Speaking in general terms of course.

I like a good action movie as much as anyone. The operative word is “good”. The writing in movies is terrible. While one can blame Hollywood remember that they have to cater to a public with terrible vocabularies that couldn’t sit and read a book. A public with short attention spans.

At least “The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane” was watchable.

Jodie Foster is and always has been an attractive woman - close to my age and someone I had a crush on until I realized she had no interest in my 50% of the population. It's a shame she's an absolute moron when it comes to politics and life in general.

Once again the old adage, “the less you say the more intelligent you seem” is proven. Jodi opened her mouth and her IQ just dropped 60 points.

Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite flicks.
She still pisses me off though...

Australia over-uses a word that aptly describes her. It begins with a “c”.

Actually, my most memorable image of her is in “Maverick “. She was stunning in that movie.

I disagree. I thought Contact was a well thought out sci-fi flick. At least acknowledged the possibility of a Creator.

Jodie also directed a project starring Mel Gibson called “The Beaver” after that man had been written off as a hate-monger by the Hollywood establishment. We all know that, while Mel wasn’t an angel, the real reason Hollywood hated him is because he made “The Passion of the Christ”. So I respect her for that. And the film “The Beaver” was entertaining.

“The Accused”, “Silence of the Lambs” and “Panic Room” all had good moments of suspense and intensity without going to an over the top presentation of gore and perversion.

I think she does have integrity and I respect her.
