What movie do you hate that everyone else loved?

The first that comes to mind for me: "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". Sappy and overly sentimental.

(And while I'm at it, "Titanic")

Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson and Telly Savalas did stink in that one.

The English Patient ... one of the few I’ve walked out of.

Pretty Woman. She was a hooker foe Pete’s sake.

‘The Big Chill’ did have Kevin Costener’s best role as the stiff.

Kasdan did supply a decent soundtrack, though.

Still prefer John Sayles’ ‘Return Of The Secaucus Seven’.

Didn’t know that but it’s obvious they are an M&M ripoff.

Bad move on M&M - given the hype they put out on that thing.

Always preferred Liza Minnelli in ‘The Sterile Cuckoo’ and James Bridges’,’The Paper Chase’ to that idiotic milk sop ‘Love Story’.

So, I saw the movie Gravity this evening. And then I threw up a spleen through my nose. This movie has managed to garner in two hours all the boredom experienced by any life form in all universes of time infinite. George “pay attention to my teeth”Clooney - yawned just a few lines taken from 1940s grade B westerns. Mercifully, he dies early, but still has enough time to have us suffer through his monotonous signature, not so subtle- Aren’t I impish smirk. Sandra “I really should stay with slapstick and snorting, looks of exasperation every 30 seconds” Bullock - attempts to save at the end, this steaming pile that redefines failure with some pitiful symbolism that any sixth-grader would eye-roll at. And insofar as my capabilities are now limited with the affliction of Tourettes Syndrome, barking illogical reactionary anger to the torture suffered, scarred for the rest of my days in reaction to. That’s all there is, folks. Just two celluloid heroes with no more ability to act than anyone you might meet on the street ... annnd lots of shots of outer space which loses it’s appeal in the first 3 minutes, considering it’s basically the same shot that never ends with little variation or aspiration. Which grasps much the same, paralleling the conversations Hollyweird sycophants will shower each other with void of shame, highlighted in unabashed arrogance supreme. Those sublime accolades insincere, bandaged in adjectives misunderstood thrown to any undeserved to achieve any end.

‘The Deer Hunter’ was a definite “One And Done” for me.

Gave up on De Niro’s goatee and idiotic “Salad Bar” on his Class A Uniform once states side.

The Princess Bride.

I thought it was too campy but then again, that is why some people liked about the movie.

Good old Coen Brothers.

I love everything they've made.

“ARRIVAL” A Movie Review ~ Eagles Field ~ This flick is an admonition where fiction clumsily brushes with reality. It tells a story, a warning between the lines that the aliens are already here and have fired their first salvo with “Operation Bore to Death” This cinematic disaster is a cremation of the senses filmed in some blue smoky haze entirely, some declaration of their artfulness that fails on an historic epic scale, no really, they went there. This attack was no doubt funded by The Borg & Hitler’s Ghost, Co-signed by Lucifer. Where they set out to find actors void of emotion, writers recruited from a State College first year film class in the infernal region and cinematographers that worship John Wayne Gacy and drown kittens. Given the option I would have preferred to have my eyes dry cleaned sipping on a molten lava latte.

That's one of THE singularly silliest posts I have EVER seen on this site!

Woody's movies may not be everyone's taste and many will disagree as which ones are good and which ones stink; however, many of his movies are wonderful; some even extremely good.

I doubt that you have even seen many of his films; no..I doubt that you even know, without looking them up, the titles of at least 1/2 of the films he has made. ;^)

I was too old to get those stinkers of a book, thankfully, but did run across children of friends of the family who loved them. Took one look at one or two of them and it was instant HATE!

I was raised on the great fairy tales, Greek& Roman mythology, Bowlerized Shakespeare, Dumas, and the wonders of Victorian/Edwardian children's books. So once I had progeny of my own, my old books ( and the ones that my mother and grandmother had been read to too ) got pulled out for bedtime readings.

The first Superman movie with Christoper Reeve was a real turd. Really dull film. The only good thing was I went to that movie with my 9th grade girlfriend and it was so boring that we sucked face through the whole thing so my memories of it all not all negative.

I also really hate Mrs. Doubtfire. I still have some major issues about my parent’s divorce when I was in Jr. High and that movie dredged up all kinds of unpleasant memories for me when I saw it. I refuse to watch it and it is on cable all the time.
