Despicable Steve: Bannon’s Alabama dive into gutter politics
NY Post ^ | Dec 07, 2017 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 12/07/2017 10:33:25 PM PST by Oshkalaboomboom

In his Alabama appearance for Roy Moore, Steve Bannon turned in an intellectually and morally putrid performance even by his standards.

There is a partisan case for voting for Moore, which is simply that Republicans can’t afford to lose a Senate seat over the next three years and Moore’s failings must be ignored or rationalized away for the larger good of the party.

This isn’t an elevated line of reasoning and is not obviously correct on its own terms. With Democrats throwing John Conyers and and Al Franken overboard, Senate Republicans would be welcoming into their ranks a potent symbol of sexual malfeasance to be used against them in the 2018 midterms.

It’s a better argument, though, than the tawdry justifications offered up by Bannon, who parachuted into an already disreputable campaign and dragged it through the gutter.

Bannon seems to misunderstand the nature of the deplorables he seeks to lead. “Deplorable” is supposed to be an unfair, disparaging term for people who believe reasonable but politically incorrect things (immigration should be restricted, NFL players should stand during the national anthem, all lives matter, etc.). It shouldn’t be a license for doing truly deplorable things.

At least some Democrats now want to jettison Bill Clinton and say they were wrong to defend him during his scandals. For his part, Bannon wants to pick up the ethics of the party of Clinton and transfer them into the GOP.

“For his part, Bannon wants to pick up the ethics of the party of Clinton and transfer them into the GOP.”

His reasoning is flawed. Bill Clinton was caught red handed with a cigar and stained dress, along with the evidence provided by Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Gennifer Flowers, etc.

Those events during the 1990s did not happen 40 years in the Clinton past.

So far, there has been NO PROOF of the allegations against Moore. No what-so-ever. If anything, there IS proof that Gloria Allred forged the signature on the year book claimed to be signed by Moore, 40 years ago.

The truth is that globalists neocons like Lowery, fear Christian Moore. They know what’s coming for them once Moore is in the Senate.

Can Lowry really be that stupid and clueless? A few Dims are pretending to jettison Slick, twenty to twenty-five years after the fact, to try and add some credibility to their phony outrage over sexual harassment in order to try and revive such accusations made against President Trump.

It may not be pleasant but the aggressor sets the rules. The RATS have been using false accusations of sexual harrassment to destroy Repubs since before Clarence Thomas.
If you want to be a nice guy the enemy wins.

Yes—and it’s about damn time. We need to win this fight, and we won’t do it by sitting on our fighting hand. It’s time to rise up and do whatever has to be done to drag the criminals back into the hell that spawned them.

Notice that the Democrats, the NeverTrumpers, and the GOPe have shifted their weight, from trying to stop Moore from being elected, to moves that give Demonrats the high ground—in their immoral imaginations— and prepare them to eject Moore from the Senate. This is all moving toward a civil war.

“turned in an intellectually and morally putrid performance”

The sentence above adequately describes Rich Lowry’s fake conservatism. Yet again, Rich Lowry is guilty of projecting.

As an Alabamian, I support Roy Moore because, damn straight, I AM partisan!!! I am not going to sit by and let the democrats, crazy and dangerous to our liberty, get within 1 vote of a majority.

There’s just no way. We’re so close to losing it all. Even now, a less than silent coup is being exposed in Washington. Being partisan is the only and right way to be at this time.

Moore wasn’t my first choice. Mo Brooks was. But he lost. And Luther, who frankly still reeks of corruption due to the Bentley affair, had to go. That leaves us with only Moore. Moore is 100% BETTER than any democrat.

I laugh out loud when I hear or see a Doug Jones commercial stating all his conservative credentials and thinking. Doug, dude, your a democrat. That’s a badge that shines over all your so-called conservatism. It shines with the light of aborted babies, rampant cultural attacks against morality, and ruination of business in his country. And right now, that badge represents hideous, un-American, anti-liberty corruption at its worse. No thanks!

I think folks like Lowery are driving their NEVER TRUMP coalition into the tank. I doubt I’ll ever take any of them serious again. In other words, I’ll never forget their perfidy.

I know I have wasted my time reading this, but:

“...by Bannon, who parachuted into an already disreputable campaign and dragged it through the gutter.”

Lowery’s feeble attempt to be Buckley-esque.

[Deplorable] shouldn’t be a license for doing truly deplorable things.

Franken can call his accusers liars, but Moore calling his accusers liars just proves their point.

“It’s not clear why the globalists would be so fixated on defeating Moore...”

Lowery defending his backers.

“...that they’d work behind the scenes to get a bunch of women — and corroborating witnesses —”

There are no corroborating witnesses. Just the opposite.

“... who don’t know each other to lie about Moore having a romantic interest in them when they were teenagers.”

If they really don’t know each other, how is that relevant? And from what they accuse, there was no romantic interest involved.

“Obviously, if going to Vietnam and having kids who served in the military is the sole measure of honor, Trump fails the test, and John McCain passes it.”

And the biggest sophistry of all, Bannon was comparing Rommey to Moore, and was not making a general statement of principle.

Lowery is such a whiny POS.

You're wrong. Moore is much better than that! 100% better than zero is still zero. And zero is the best a current day Dim can aspire to.

What a barking queen! The Dems will always have Bill Clinton on their backs no matter what the GOP does. They can’t dump history. The Dems did what they did. And the GOP has not had a perfect history, either.
