Turner Field thankfully was not imploded and was acquired by Georgia State University and converted into their football stadium (GA St only began playing Div I football several years back).

it was decided that both needed new stadiums

The Braves at least wanted a less diverse environment. The Falcons? Who knows?

“What is with this nonsense of destroying perfectly fine 25yo stadiums just to replace them with these multi-billion dollar abstract monstrosities?”

The old stadium is dangerously low in traditional advertising per square inch. It is also dangerously low in flashing in your face jumbotron advertising screens. It was determined too many people in the stadium were watching the game.

Turner Field was built for the Olympics, the new stadium for the Braves is not in Atlanta it is on the northwest periphery of I-285 (the outer belt) because the team performed a study and deemed that the majority of their fans reside in the northern suburbs.

Quack, Waddle...

"It’s a story that Hickenlooper has retold, perhaps 1,000 times, when he was a private citizen, the mayor of Denver and now the governor of Colorado. "

If the velocity of money was a duck, the Jesuit 1stMarxists would bronze it and worship that too.

According to wiki...

In 2017, the Silverdome was condemned and cleared for demolition. The firm contracted to handle the demolition must complete demolition of the Georgia Dome, slated for November 20, before moving on to the Silverdome. The demolition of the Silverdome will commence on December 3, 2017 with a partial implosion, followed by an excavation of the building from the inside out.

It only lasted 25 years. We build to waste so we can fill someones pockets after the government pays its share of our money.

Why don’t you focus on your pointless bullet train and leave us Georgians alone

I think mine are from the 1980’s. My late husband had to replace the heating element in the dryer but he died in 2006. Things are not made like they use to be.

We have a bullet train in Wyoming? Since when?

Also, the stadium is a $1.6 billion dollar gift from the taxpayers to the billionaire owner of the Falcons.

I’m sure he appreciates the charity of all the middle class people in Georgia who just love helping a poor man pay for a mansion and a fleet of private jets.

Like I told another poster, mine are from the 1980’s. My late husband had to replace a heating element in the dryer but he died in 2006. Both are Kenmore.

Yeah, hence why I say it was a waste of money. They didn’t need to build a new one, when the one they demolished worked just fine.

I’m in GA, and consider his questions quite valid.
A pile of rubble isn’t gong to pay for itself.

I’m not sure what specifically ties Jesuits to the influence of MBA’s. None of the MBA’s coming out of the Ivy League, SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, or Pac 12 were trained by Jesuits.

My late parent’s house, was built in 1949, making it 68 years old. Still standing and in good shape. Cost $12,000 at the time.

>>I’m not sure what specifically ties Jesuits to the influence of MBA’s.

I had a classmate who graduated from Denver Lutheran - who got his JD from the local Jesuit snake factory.

Told me I should learn up on Marx’s “thinking” ‘cause it was real useful... to him in his bankruptcy bidness.

Same attitude self-evident in the graduates of their M.B.A. pogrom.

Just ask the off duty banksters hanging out in their booth at the pride parade.

It’s all out in the open. But... So What.

Actually it is. The rubble is going to be recycled and used in playgrounds and other community projects. Mercedes Benz area a has paid for itself already and is already in use
