Even if you assume this happened:
A) Did she misrepresent her age by a few months? [Are you supposed to “card” all your dates?] Alabama law was age 19 then.
B) Was the law about consuming by, or purchasing for? Moore probably knew about that.

Most assuredly, Roy Moore knows the truth. So do the accusers. I think the burden in on the accusers having to substantiate their “truth” in accordance with Constitutional mandates and traditional American jurisprudence.
As of right now, the narrative of the accusers/Post writers reeks of corruption and deception.

This woman doesn’t really have anything to report. She dated Moore when she was 18 and he 32. Both were single, it was a different era in the south and Alabama. I’m not really upset about the wine. I’d bet at 18 it wasn’t her first drink.

The mere fact that all of these women waited 40 years to bring these "alleged allegations" up, smells to high heaven. How did the Washington Compost find all four of these women just now? Good investigative reporting? That's laughable on the surface. Someone put them up to this.
The mere fact that these "alleged allegations" were dropped into the Alabama voters's laps, by the Washington Compost no less, on the eve of the election smells of political chicanery.
The mere fact that none of these women have any facts or evidence or proof at all of their "alleged allegations", smells of a witch hunt orchestrated by Moor'e opponents. And that would, sadly, include his own party, the GOP Swamp Slimes in DC.
Ignorant and uninformed people may see these "alleged allegations" as reason not to elect Moore. Astute and informed adults can see right through this smoke screen and will see no reason to alter their votes on Dec. 12th.

Has a specific date been mentioned in regards to this woman’s allegations? I checked for the changes in the drinking age in Alabama, and in 1971, the age was changed from 21 to 19. It was raised to 21 in 1986. I turned 18 in 1965, and in New York State, I could drink legally, but couldn’t vote until I was 21.
Why even keep quiet during all the years of Moore’s political activity? The whole 10 Commandment Controversy would have been an ideal time to bring these accusations to light - if they were true.

18 is of legal age in every state of the Union. An 18 year old can vote, enter into contracts, by cigarettes, and join the military. They can even date 30 year old men or even eighty year old men.

My mom and one of her old friends put a full court press on me to take her friend’s just turned 17 year old daughter to her Prom night when I was like 27 plus or minus because her friends daughter wanted to have a white guy take her to the Prom and we were the only white people they knew.
That was years ago and I had forgotten all about it until this lame and pathetic Moore thing came up.
I hope Roy Moore has a better memory than I do because I can’t remember much about it except the vague recollection that she was really nice and we both had a great time.
