Way back when this supposed to have occurred I think the drinking age was 18 or 19. So she is, as part of her moral crutch, using plying with alcohol to underage person - Bill Shit! 1970 drinking and smoking age was 19.

Notably, he has not denied knowing Ms. Deason, or pursuing and dating her when she was 18 and he was in his mid-thirties.

Why would he need to deny this? A man in his mid-thirties dating an 18 year old is dating an adult - there's nothing wrong with it if both parties agree to do so.

What Moore is denying is that he engaged in sexual contact with a 14 year old - and I'm glad he's denying it, since there is plenty wrong with that.

I don’t know about the laws in Alabama but in New York State it was legal for 18 year olds to buy and drink alcohol up until about the 1980’s.

What we are saying here in Alabama is that these are hit job “allegations”. I know many close to this situation, on both sides of the aisle.

Many southern states allowed 18 year olds to drink beer and wine until 1986, when a new federal law raised the age to 21.

Someone needs to check the Alabama drinking laws for the year this alleged event happened.

I read on another site that the age of consent in Alabama was either 12 or 14 back in the late seventies. I’m not saying it would be right, just that it all has to considered in light of the laws at that time. I also read that the then 14 yr old accuser has made similar allegations against various pastors that were proven to be false. Okay people, let’s dig up the truth so Roy Moore can go to DC and clean house.
