Michael Bennett says Colin Kaepernick resolution needed before more talks with owners
ESPN ^ | October 19, 2017 | Brady Henderson

Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett said that before NFL players and the league can move forward with their conversations about working together on social causes, the issue of Colin Kaepernick's unemployment must be addressed.

"I think the first step to even being able to even have a conversation is making sure that Colin Kaepernick gets an opportunity to play in the NFL," Bennett said Wednesday. "I think before we even negotiate anything about whether we sit, whether we stand [during the national anthem], it should be a negotiation about opening up the doors for Colin Kaepernick and giving him an opportunity again, because I feel like through everything, that's been lost.

Las Vegas I think - I swear somebody is orchestrating this guy behind the scenes. Does he have a Muzzie girlfriend in the wings?

For the sake of “social justice”, how about we make sure there are equal white players to black players?

Better yet, proportional representation. Blacks can constitute no more than 13% of the NFL players.

Uh, gee well, how about just forget about it, Michael? The idiot Kaperdick wrote his own ticket here. He’s way too much of a diversion from what should be on every players mind and that’s football.

I suggest anyone who doesn’t like it should just quit. Right, no takers there huh?

I’m sure glad that Obama came along and healed all the racial divides in this county, huh?

Colin Kaepernick needs a resolution involving his frequently repeating the phrase, “Would you like fries with that?”

Shirley, they must know by now that the REAL issue of hiring Kaepernick is that nobody wants to be the coach who cuts him again in a season or two.

Goodell and the owners created a Frankenstein monster, and now the monster is running the league.

Goodell and the owners are crony-capitalist, elitist, political and media whores, who would pursue any government, media, marketing angle to increase revenue. Having done this for years, they have worked their way into the graces and leftist mindset of our political/financial elites. They'll take money from the Dept. of Defense to promote the military, while at the same time allow the likes of Kaepernick to conduct his protests for 2 years.

they are completely amoral. Trump has simply forced them to publicly choose, and now they are lost and confounded.

Bennett is a slightly above average defensive lineman who is a anti-cop based on recent video interactions with police. Why is this guy suddenly the voice of the NFL?

All players must be average height and average weight!

How stupid do you have to be to look at the stands and ratings throughout the NFL and not worry that you are about to take a huge pay cut for destroying your employer.

“... players and the league can move forward with their conversations about working together on social causes ....”

I wonder what my boss would say if I informed him that he needed to spend work time with me working on social causes of my choice. I can guess!

Is anybody going to do their job and just play football?

Perhaps they are willing to take the pay cut so they can feel good about themselves. If the player making $3M per year is cut to $1M per year he is still doing pretty well. If the player making $3M per year is cut to $100K per year he will probably think twice about felling good about himself.

The fans are in charge, my friend. Those eyeballs and wallets and bums on the seats are the ones who call the tune.

That said, I welcome Colin Kapernick's return to the NFL. The sooner the better. It would hasten the final demise of this league and would be delicious to watch.

When the majority of fans (who happen to be white) decide they have had enough of this Kabuki dance, the league will fold into a pile of dust.
