I don’t understand a boot for a broken toe or even twisted ankle for that matter. My knowledge of boots like Hillary sported is for torn muscles etc.

Actually it is very difficult to run down stairs. When one runs on a flat surface or up stairs you step up or forward on your toes but not when not when going down.
The media did a real number on Gerald Ford. I never knew he was a top college athlete (he was also a skier) and a true scholar (graduated from Yale Law School) until later years. The media made him out to be only a big, dumb lummox.
