A woman headed to Los Angeles International Airport was dragged off a Southwest plane Tuesday night by two police officers after claiming she was deathly allergic to two dogs on board the flight. ...
The kerfuffle was preceded by the woman telling the flight crew that she had a life-threatening allergy to two dogs on the flight, one of which was a service animal, and her demand that they be removed from the flight.
When she could not provide a medical certificate stating she could travel safely, she was asked to leave.
...
As the officers removed the unidentified woman, Dumas said she kept saying she was just trying to get to her fathers surgery.
...
The flight went on to LAX and arrived on schedule.

I didn't know I needed one. Nobody ever asked me for such a thing.

Southwest doesn’t play that game. Good for Southwest.
And, the flight still arrived on schedule....without the whiner ;-)

Did the so called Service Dog have certification too ? Are you complaining about service dogs in general or the blatant abuse of "service dogs" by a bunch of the "I'm special, look at me, I have a service dog!" crowd?

SHE told them she was in danger of dying on that flight, so it was her LIE that put herself in the position of needing to justify why they should allow her to remain on the plane.
Ofc she was full of s###.

Many medical conditions such as joint replacement will create a need for a certificate. Not in all cases but eliminates the possible hassle

I didn't know I needed one. Nobody ever asked me for such a thing. If you had a 'deathly' allergy to something that you might encounter in normal daily living you probably would.

the whole ‘service dog’ thing is out of hand. like handicapped parking has become unusable by people that need it in favorite of a group of fat fraudsters. same is happening with service dogs

At least it wasn’t the dreaded peanut allergy — where one passenger prevents everyone on the flight from getting their free Southwest peanuts.
