I do agree that it is the wrong venue for their protest. If a football player feels so strongly, protest between games out of uniform.
However, the main beef with the NFL teams was kneeling during the anthem, which was not done in this instance.
Not really, it's still very bad optics. The NFL is doubling-down on a huge mistake and that is to bring politics in to their business. It's Business 101, keep politics out of your business.
People like their pro football and are sick of this crap to the point of kicking pro football to the curb. The NFL is being very, very stupid on this.

At this point they aren’t protesting anything, because their audience is not being swayed, but are being turned off. If it were a real protest, as soon as it appeared it wasn’t producing the desired results, they would have modified it. At this point they are standing on the field waving their middle fingers at the crowd. It is time they stop pretending and start doing it for real.
I bet they think they’re really clever. All the jocksniffers on ESPN (and here) will be slappin’ five......

No that is what actually happened. At first I was angry at Jones, and then I read what actually happened. The team joined with Jones PRIOR TO ANTHEM, and kneeled together in protest to police brutality. Then later all stood for National Anthem w hand over heart. Jones said he would fire anyone who did not respect flag/anthem.
Our Constitution calls for peaceful protest, and as long as that does NOT insult Vets (I am one!) or the Flag, then why would we not allow that! It won’t change my mind that they are wrong, because I taught CJ at CC level and I know the statistics. I do respect Constitution though!
