Winners and Losers: Week 4 had a couple upsets and could've had a lot more

Week 4 of the 2017 college football season was quite the tease.

Sure, there were a couple of upsets including No. 16 TCU’s road win over No. 6 Oklahoma State and NC State’s road win over No. 12 Florida State. But there could have been a bunch more, even if all of the final scores don’t show it.

We’ll start with the obvious ones, like No. 4 Penn State’s walk-off win vs. Iowa. The Nittany Lions scored a touchdown on the final play to steal a 21-19 win at Iowa and avoid the upset. Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley’s throw to Juwan Johnson may end up being one of the tosses of the season.

One thing to execute a keep away offense but quite another for TCU to score on almost all their possessions until the 4th Qtr as they beat the Pokes at Stillwater. UGA absolutely mauled the other Bulldog team. CBS choose to broadcast Bama v. Vanderbilt. They choose badly. Iowa almost pulled off an epic upset against the Nittany Lions.

Navy is 3-0, baby! And Air Force learned that running the triple option offense isn’t as easy as Navy makes it look.

I read an article the other day explaining why the service academies run the triple option. One reason is because of the body mass/weight restrictions cadets must meet to get into the academy. Without sumo-wrestler lines, game play has to adjust.

Good game, Hawkeyes. I believe there are seldom moral victories on the gridiron, but last night may have been one off the field. The U of I Children’s Hospital kids brought a tear to my eyes.

Has the Gatorade for the opposing coaches been spiked so they make stupid defensive calls?

I don't know, but that's two games in a row now.

Unfortunately for us, UGA looks like a beast.

If it works out like the last 0-2 start I’ll take it. ;)
My hope is that McElwain keeps winning enough to keep his job and keeps losing to the Noles.

You know that’s my fear, that the shark humper will do just enough to keep his job.

Well, after watching UGA last night, UF isn’t going to get the SEC Championship Game this year, by default, that’s for sure.

Butch Jones is toast.

My fear is that Tennessee will finally get a decent coach, while we’re stuck with McElwain.

Have you seen his post-game interviews? He is one weird duck.
