Megyn Kelly is best known as the hard-edged news anchor who wasn’t afraid to push back on conservative orthodoxy at Fox News Channel. Her new employer, NBC Universal, is trying to trot out a softer side.
As NBC prepares to launch a new morning show led by the much-scrutinized Kelly, it has unleashed a promotional salvo that speaks less about her news chops and instead tries to unveil other facets of her personality. One recent promo shows Kelly shaking hands with people in a supermarket and at a baseball stadium, and suggests her program, “Megyn Kelly Today,” is “not about us versus them. It’s about us for everyone.” She’s sharing space on an NBCU billboard in Times Square that depicts her offering up a hot cup of coffee. In a video posted on her new show’s Twitter feed, she reveals a fondness for “Overboard,” the 1987 comedy featuring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.

Big Wigs @ NBC:Ok, Megyn we need to recreate your image. Let’s book you on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The plan here is to have you come across as not being remotely conservative and pro Trump. ON the contrary, we want you to come down hard, saying that...ah...Trump, yeah Trump himself caused you to leave your job @ Fox.

Ok, how about, his tweets, his treatment of women, his over all bullying made you fearfull, that you couldn’t report objectively and so, you quit to work for a news organization that had greater ethical standards of journalism. You know, throw out something like that.

Big Wigs @ NBC: Ok that will endear you with your new colleagues and the left. We need secondly to show another side of you. Everyone thinks you’re this Bit*h. Plus that interview on Howard Stern made you look like a sex pot. So, let’s show the softer side of you, that might appeal to women of all ages.

Its obvious that the network has been struggling to find a place for her, but she’s got too much baggage and no clear persona.
She blew her big opportunity at Fox when she went off against Trump. She was unprofessional, mean spirited, and smarmy. That fiasco has haunted her ever since.
She is damaged goods.
