Marine Corps will get its first female infantry officer

The woman, who has not yet been identified, is expected to graduate Monday from the grueling Infantry Officer Course, the Washington Post reported Thursday.

The lieutenant completed live fire drills at Twentynine Palms, Calif., the final requirement of the three-week course that was opened on an experimental basis to women in 2012 and typically has a 25 percent washout rate.

She is expected to lead a platoon of about 40 infantry Marines in a service often regarded as the most resistant to full gender integration in the military.

provide a blast radius small enough to protect the
thrower when the user can't physically toss the

chain enabling the user, should she forget to pull

Some years ago I saw a documentary on Marine recruit training.The premise was that they followed two platoons of recruits through training...one female platoon and one male.The claim was that both platoons were getting *exactly* the same training....no allowances for being female.

After one day of particularly tough training they interviewed several members of both platoons.The guys were clearly tired,sore and visibly "dis-spirited".But all of them made it clear that they could hack it.

The women were weeping like little girls.

IOC is almost three months long, not three weeks.

I would like to see a picture of this woman as until the last day of may I supported every TBS and IOC troop going through the pipeline. Maybe they pulled her from current ranks rather than a newbie just out of TBS.

My son is a Marine, and went through Parris Island.
He said the women there got treated differently, and during the final phase called the crucible there were some women who never carried their packs, and yet graduated.
He said the Corps is under pressure to have more women , and the problem is that many women suffer injuries during MCT, and basic.
Now his combat unit is waiting to get a couple of women,and all the guys he is with did not want them as they are known to be useless.
The problem is General Neller who is a little more PC with women etc.

Back in the day I had a female lance corpuscle doe-eye me before a nasty working party told me not to treat her any different than the male Marines, so I did exactly that.

She found another NCO who was more receptive to her doe-eyed routine and somehow avoided that kind of duty. In a way, I didn’t blame her, any decent Lance Corporal will play any goofy angle to avoid *%$# details.

Human nature dictates that there will always be receptive men, as unfair as that is to the Marines of either sex who refused to play that game.

Had other female Marines who were dedicated and damn good at what they did, but back then they weren’t allowed in the combat arms, and having them in combat service support positions was a novelty.

Finding women to fill infantry billets is a luxury that can be indulged in peacetime, but once the meatgrinder of war starts in earnest again, I wager it will cease.

I hear you. When I was in we had a female attached to our unit. We were doing Mountain and Arctic warfare in north Norway. She was useless, but half the guys flirted with her, and half the guys did not. I treated her as a guy , and she tried her flirty ways to get out of duties, her carrying her weight in her packs. in the end the unit cohesiveness broke down, and we had drama.
I hear all the time how females should be treated as equals, but then it is not about that, it is about the drama they bring.

How can you ask that question? Of course they did. You know the PT requirements are different (lower), and that in every measure of physical capacity women come out worse. They cheated to pass three mommies through Ranger school because the Army was under duress to include girlies. This is Kara Hultgren all over again, except the girls are going to get men killed.

Yes I now remember the Ranger training. I saw that on some report and I have also seen the Marine Infantry report a couple of years ago. It just will not work.

If women are the equal in all things in all ways, then the taboo against hitting women will be removed.

Once that’s done, a whole lot of women that’ve gotten away with being aggressively belligerent towards men will find themselves in the hospital awaiting dental and facial reconstruction surgery.

Once actual physical reality is made painfully unavoidable, the lying filth of the feminazi movements will be shut down hard.

Worst case scenario, the womens’ movement is clocked back to the early 1800s and has to start all over.

A lot of women are going do get themselves killed or crippled playing at this game.

EVERY branch of the Military has had to lower its standards to accommodate women.

The “If your standards are too high, lower them” syndrome began back in the 1970s and has gotten progressively worse through the years.

Commanding Officers who fought “The Program” were summarily relieved, and the word quickly spread that if you wanted to get promoted, “Duck and Cover” and don’t fight “The Program.”

Promotions being more important than mission accomplishment, “Duck and Cover” for ambitious male (and female) officers became the accepted standard.

They just hoped and prayed that no SHTF sexual charges or poor performance ratings occurred on their watch.

Senior Enlisted and Officers who tried to uphold standards were cashiered.

Today’s “gendered” military is not what it was before this crap all began!

The problem is, I have not a clue how to fix the problem.

If the pre-PC standards were re-imposed, the services would lose a lot of men as well as a lot of women. Standards have been lowered across the board, and quotas have become more important than quality in recruiting, both Officer and Enlisted.
