You are absolutely right. My apologies.
I can see where that is such a good memory. Today, people wouldn’t know which end of the needle to pick up...”what’s this long colored string for? What are all of these lines on this paper?”
My son is training to be a firefighter. The head of his fire academy told the parents that today’s recruits are all good at phones, but hardly any have any tool skills.
LOL...those were the days!
Maybe those two have it on backwards?
When my boys were growing up in the 70s, I observed the *quality* of the girls in their generation; so I taught them how to sew on a button; navigate a sewing machine; do laundry; cook a simple meal; build a fire; sharpen a knife; make a bed. You know, basic stuff.
My prescience was vindicated when one of them got involved with a young lady who only knew how to order take-out. That didn’t last; I never factored in the power of hormones. LOL
Most schools here, have done away with *shop classes*, *home ec*, *car repair* where all these useful skills were taught/reinforced. It’s a shame.
Well, if you are really interested, I suppose there’s a YouTube video on these basic skills.
LOL...that could be us. Modesty prevailed! :D
The dresses are all to tight. Yuck.
