Saturday’s Texas-USC had more in attendance than Sunday’s Rams and Chargers games. Combined.

The Los Angeles Rams are trending upward. A rocky first season in L.A. gave way to a 1-0 start in 2017. Last year’s worst offensive team exploded for 46 points against the Colts, giving former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff his first win as a starting quarterback and setting the tone for a promising year.

The local fans, however, haven’t seemed to notice.

NFL is a horrible product. Not one NFL game came close to the excitement of USC v. Texas. The fact that Clintoinista Joe Lockhart is a spokeshole for the NFL summarizes everything wrong with the Shield.

And with declining team revenues, player contracts will also decline.
Since 70% of NFL players are black, who be the the biggest losers
thanks to the Kap?

I wish the NFL had stayed out of Los Angeles. LA already has two great teams—the Occidental College Tigers and the USC Trojans.

LA is still Raider Country, even when they move to Las Vegas.

I’ve been to both a Raiders game and a USC game in the Coliseum. USC games there wasn’t an empty seat in the place and it holds 90,000+. I’ve seen more people at a HS Football game than would attend Raiders games in LA. The Raiders hosted the AFC Championship in the early 80’s and it was blacked out in LA because it didn’t sell out. People in LA won’t attend NFL games. Never have and likely never will.

It was a great game, and that freshman quarterback for Texas was amazing for his experience level.

Fun game to watch, it was a throwback back. Very physical, good defense.

Texas looked a lot better than they did against Maryland.

“Team revenues” are nothing but gravy for NFL teams.

The real money comes from broadcast rights, which are split equally among each team.

People in LA won’t attend NFL games. Never have and likely never will.

They did in the late 1960's, when George Allen was the coach. He was very popular with the public. In 1968, when Rams owner Dan Reeves announced that he was firing Allen, the public outcry was so great that he relented and kept Allen on for two more years.

A lot is being made of the poor attendance for LA’s newest team but do not forget, the reason the Chargers moved to LA was NOT to sell more seats. It was to be in one of America’s largest media markets and reap the financial benefits thereof. The real measure of success would be the number of people tuned into the game.
