New York City’s left-wing mayor, Bill de Blasio, has selected his left-wing friend, Harry Belafonte, to advise him on which New York City monuments are so hateful that they should be removed. The singer is one of 18 persons selected to be on the panel which will render an opinion.
Belafonte knows a thing or two about hatred: He is a supreme hate-monger himself, having spewed his vitriol at America, as well as many prominent Americans, for decades.
Virtually everyone concedes that Osama bin Laden was a genocidal maniac, one responsible for the deaths of legions of his own people, never mind thousands of Americans. But in the eyes of Belafonte, the mass murderer is no different from George W. Bush.(snip)

I’ll say it again - its funny and very ironic that the marxist in short-pants De Blasio and his friends even have a voice - simply because he is mayor of a city that can only fund itself because it is the financial center for trading in debt and stocks of the USA, skimming earnings off a couple hundred super-wealthy financial oligarchs

If these SOB A-holes could,they would take down Mt. Rushmore,Statue of Liberty and every other monument depicting our country that OFFENDS THEM. We are giving the American Republic away without a fight and that is not only incomprehensible,but reprehensible.

Leonard Bernstein, his wife, and their tony liberal friends hosted a fundraiser for the Black Panthers at their Park Avenue digs in Manhattan. The buildup, the party itself and its unexpected repercussions still make for hilarious reading and are not dated in the slightest.
One important difference: the `radical chic’ of today is far, far more antisemitic than in those days.
IIRC, Belafonte attended that 1970 gathering.
