Well, I don’t know if it is good or bad. I know my 20 year old son has a hard time making ends meet, so where would he get $100 for one evening out, when he doesn’t have that many free hours to work, and jobs are harder to find? Does that mean he forgoes companionship? He and his friends tend to “hang out” when they get together.

You don't have to be a conspiracy factualist to understand some basic fundamental truths. First & foremost, you cannot have infinite resource consumption on a finite planet. Continued population growth combined with rote customs based on long established cultural norms (marriage, sex, children, production, consumption) will eventually reach a guranteed systemic failure.

Recognizing this reality, the PTB (in reality, their scientific advisors) are banking their hopes that technology will save humanity. But in order for this to occur, wide-scale social change will first have to be affected. For one, the economy will have to become more cerebral, more "virtual".

For example, jet airplanes consume an enormous amount of fuel flying vacationing tourists around the world to visit interesting sites. But, by utilizing Brave New World techniques in making these experiences "all in your head", the masses can stay at home and experience the same sensations as if they were really there, live and in person.

It doesn't take a great leap in thinking to recognize how these kinds of trends could be applied to all manner of social institutions. HD porn (for the guys) and social media (for the gals) are just the incipient stepping stones towards creating an all encompassing virtual reality.

With programmed, controlled breeding, different human categories can be engineered to perform "work" in this new environment. Throw in exponentially increasing technology performance improvements, and it's not hard to see a cross-over point at some point in the near future between AI and humans.

Faced with thw situation outlined above, people have a couple of choices: denial, critcism or acceptance. I choose to embrace, because in reality, "resistance is futile". Might as well enjoy the ride since no one has any real control over these trends. Trace the arc of development of mankind over millenia, and it becomes apparent it's always been an out-of-control race towards the future.

I think the concerns are overwrought. Sure, I'd like to see my two oldest kids settle down, but that's me being selfish. My grandson turns 7 on Saturday, and I'd like a couple more in my life.

My wife comes from a large matriarchal dominated family, and she likes to run everyone's lives. I love her still, but she needs to butt out of her adult children's lives.

My poor 15YO son has to deal with their legacy, and my wife's efforts to correct her past mistakes by riding his ass. He's at school from 6 AM to 7 wide PM, thanks to sports and band. On top of that, add Boy Scouts to the mix.

IMO, she's scaring the kids away from marriage. I have more patience with them, as I didn't get married until I was 33. If it takes them longer to find the right partner, it will be worth it.

In the 1968 futuristic novel Stand On Zanzibar, the global TV network features a travelogue about exciting & interesting places being visited by “Mr. & Mrs. Everywhere”.

But for an extra fee, a box on the TV set makes the globetrotting couple on the screen look exactly like the couple watching the show at home. Vicarious virtual travel with none of the hassles of actually going somewhere.

My wife has major psychological problems stemming from severe abuse when she was a child. Due to her early family environment she has to control everything but early in our marriage she was an OK wife and a great mother. Our daughter was born and raised during that time and she is getting ready to marry.

Our son was very young when my wife had a very bad breakdown and several years of near-hell. She tried to control everything and everybody and became hateful of men, including me, and life itself. At the age of 22 he now has no interest in dating or women as he actually tells my wife she is crazy and he does not want to get sucked into the same thing.

My wife tried to change my daughter but she was too old and had her own mind about things. It has affected my daughter but not to the point where she has given up on love and marriage, but she was very careful in choosing her mate.

Boil it down, and what you are saying is that the USSR was on the right track?

Well, I subscribe to the theory of limited government. I guess if one were to assign a label, an approrpriate name might might be paleo-conservative. In other words, those who believe the assigned role of government should be to protect against force & fraud. This of course means defense against enemies, both foreign and/or domestic, who would conspire to seize the rights & liberties of the people.

Other than that, people are free worship who they want, be who they are, research what they will, develop what they are able, invent what they can, associate as they will, organize capital to the extent of market interest, and in general, not be subject to someone or some organization's pre-conceived ideas about social formation and/or economic direction.

If you understand science & technology - in all facets - and the rapid growth within different spheres, then it's pretty easy to see how the future will play out. Like I said, some can deny, while others protest/complain (or, cast aspersions by assumed association, sort of the right's version of crying 'racism' to foreclose discussion & debate with the dreaded C or U words).

In the final analysis, that's all fine & dandy. If you know what's going on, you realize that while many/most people do not want change, those who do get with the program are able to ride the wave for fun & profit.

Interesting to hear on a conservative site a wholesale embrace of the New World Order, globalism, and anti-Christian fascism.

One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. What's your definition of conservatism? The use of state power to lock into a place a system that you happen to favor or one that provides you with a personal advantage? How is that any different than leftists who use the same exact strategy to satisfy their own personal needs for power & control?

How about letting the market decide; you know, freedom of association and all that. In an open system, for every movement/trend that is deleterious to personal freedom, alternatives are created that re-sets the balance. Unless of course there are those who wish to tip the scales in their favor aka cheating for personal gain. That's where labels & slogans come in - cheap, unsophisticated methods of channeling debate. I find it somewhat fascinating to observe similarities in behavior.

Technology proceeds apace regardless of anyone's desires or wishes; it just is. How it plays out is where the fun begins - it's a challenge to stay current, correctly assess trends, and financially benefit.
