It is immoral and illegal to take money from a house when you are married. the additional debt is counted against both parties. if you own it alone it may not be illegal but you are subject to lender conditions that might involve the spouse.
Most lender guidelines are federal.

Not my generation,we all stayed home,but my daughters and daughters in law,with one exception, kept working.
They are all still married,the grandkids are young adults,and it all worked out for everyone.
We have to do what is right for us,I guess,and no one should shame anyone for their choice.

What has always amazed me is how women will use their children in a divorce. They will use them in court and emotionally as a tool against the husband in a divorce. They seem oblivious of the damage they are doing to their own child. It is like the child is naught but a possession.
Happened to me. I lost twice in court. Third time he was old enough to express his desires of which parent he wanted to live with. It did not go to court. She just signed the papers. It was odd but as she was signing the papers the reality hit her and tears streamed down her face. I actually wanted to comfort her but did not. That would have been a horrible error.
Conspiring to bring down the institution of marriage is one of the core agendas of the enemies of this country.
Many useful idiots have unknowingly joined in the move toward cultural breakdown, an effect traceable to the influence of the Frankfort School and of course farther back to whoever convinced those guys to believe the lies.

In a divorce each side is always claiming the other is screwing them and both are nervous about what is going to happen. . The assets should be frozen at time of separation. Borrowing money against a house when the other party has an interest without their approval is immoral and illegal. Good night.

Yep, no doubt about it.
I’m happy that I stayed home with my kids until they were all in school, but I was also thrilled to go back to work.
I stayed at home for 8 years, and it was some of the hardness, stressful, lonely, mundane years of my life. You can also add thankless to the list. As proof by your comment.
I went back to work doing a very labor intensive job in a field of men. They all told me that very few other women would do this job, and they didn’t expect me to last long. I told them to try being a SAHM for 8 years.
It’s been 7 years now, and I’m still at that job.

I’m pretty sure in the “good old days” men didn’t routinely pimp out their wives. But then I guess I could have missed that in chapter in US History.
