Oxymoron alert.
Keep an eye on the flatbeds.
The old rule of thumb was flatbeds sitting meant the economy was slowing. Flatbeds loaded and rolling meant things were picking up.
I’ll be hitting the road this week so I will watch the flatbed traffic.
Meanwhile, on my morning commute I see all those dump trucks hauling dirt away from....future household storage facilities and boy are they huge!
Just like George Carlin’s sketch about “More Stuff”. People are starting to prosper and are acquiring more stuff & need a place to stash their existing stuff. Another sign of an upturn.
Of course, I live in South Carolina aka`the land of no basements’. Few houses with garages actually have cars in them, these are used for storage & the occasional rock band.
Thank you for the comment. Would you prefer ‘inner suburb of Calgary’?
Afghanistan supply run underway.
I like your remediation idea.
Truck traffic this weekend is partly because they’re trying to get past the eclipse belt traffic of Monday
Dulles airport is about 33 miles NNE from my house and from the time I was stationed here in 1992 until 2008 there were many aircraft, about one every two minutes or so, making long approaches to the pattern right over my house.
During the entire Obama administration there were fewer aircraft, by a large number. There were even times there would be 15 minutes or more between planes.
I noticed about four days ago that the number of flights over my house had gone way up and were almost like it was in the 1990s.
