Chelsea Clinton on Confederate Statues: Christians Don’t Memorialize the Devil for His Rebellion

Bill and Hillary Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, has been spending a lot of time on Twitter during the last year attempting to expound on all manner of topics to show how engaged she is, but her attempt to compare Confederate statues to the worship of the devil did not fare so well.
The younger Clinton took to her Twitter account on Thursday to try to mix Biblical themes with Confederate themes, saying, “The story of Lucifer-who rebelled against God-is part of many Christians’ traditions.” Then she added that she never saw a statue of “Lucifer” in a church:

The men of the Confederacy who took up arms were just men - not demons from hell. Angels and demons may be either wholly good or wholly bad, but human beings are a combination of both - only children and liberals believe otherwise. There's no harm in honoring bravery or gallantry or sacrifice, even if it was in a bad cause that needed to be defeated.

It was fairly common in Catholic Churches (back when they were still Catholic) to have a stained glass window of St. Micheal the Archangel stepping on or spearing - Lucifer.

Chelsea has probably not darkened the door of a church since her baptism (if she was ever baptized). She wasn't married in a church, but at Astor Courts.
If she HAD ever been in a church, she would know that there are lots and lots of statues of Lucifer in church.
He's under the feet of St. Michael the Archangel.

This is stupid. These were people who died because our nation was divided. I don’t know about any of you, but it’s not my job to consider who is pure evil, and I would doubt even most of those in the confederacy would compare to the level of evil in Satan. The U.S. Government is not God.

I’m not sure how many Confederate monuments are in Arkansas, but her father has had plenty of opportunities as Governor, POTUS, and high profile “statesman” to call for their removal. Even a month ago he wasn’t expressing desire to see them taken down.
