DALLAS, TX Untold millions are poised for the Aug. 21 eclipse of the sun on Aug. 21 (sorry, Texas, it'll only be partial from our horizon), but the date when many kids gear up for the first day of school is inconvient for one mom.
"Most kids go back to school that day," the mom wrote the Perot Museum in Dallas that's hosting a solar eclipse party. "Can it be done on the weekend?"
The answer is no. The date of the solar eclipse cannot be postponed for another day.

Sorry dear. Go back to wondering why they make the deer cross at that spot on the road and not somewhere else.
Tragically, odds are mom is a product of our public education system. More tragically, the kids will probably be attending public school on the day of this celestial event. Its a vicious cycle.
My Gosh, the idiot wants the solar eclipse reschedule? Try praying to GOD, maybe He’ll reschedule it.
I’m pretty sure she meant the party, not the solar eclipse.
Why would you have an eclipse party to a time after the eclipse has already occurred?
I raised six kids, and understand mom logic :-)
Astrophysics is not her calling. However we could move the moon a few degrees. That will not be easy!
She remind me of the gal who asked why they couldn’t put Deer Crossing signs in lighter traffic areas to reduce the number hit by cars.
Dallas has become Austinized.
“People like this vote?”
Whats worse is they sometimes reproduce. (shudders).
Well, if you believe that global climate change is entirely human caused (AGW) (or have been told by the MSM that the facts are so “indisputable” anyone denying them should be arrested and punished), then it logically follows that other naturally occurring phenomena, such as eclipses, can also be influenced by human behavior.
The only real issue is how many signatures are required on the eclipse delay petition at Change.org, before it will be rescheduled to the weekend?
Right?
! The Ha-Ha me probably died the day I put on reading glasses and crossed over into the magic land of Geriatrica! :)
Probably twice.
