Antifa are like fire-ants at a picnic: they don’t need no stinkin’ permits.
They just show up, concealing their identities because they plan civil disorder, and start fights with those peaceably assembling to seek redress for their grievances.
If this isn’t a criminal conspiracy, there isn’t such a thing.
We as a nation have had our ration of these criminals. It’s been going on for over a year now: feral brats assaulting Trump supporters/real Americans (but I repeat myself).
If the police won’t do anything, normies will defend themselves. Now Uniparty is harrumphing, blustering and condemning the people with permits; on a positive note, AG Jeff Rip van Sessions awoke from his deep slumber.
To have an argument, both sides need skin in the game. The left needs to feel that the day will come when they won’t be able to protest. That’s false. The leaders who cut the left loose on right protesters are not in fear of consequences and the right does not have political leaders who will play and threat game against leftist protesters.
If the right needs to go violent, they should go after the Left’s organizer leaders.
Well put, but completely lost on the left.

“I wonder if the government has chosen sides?”
Which government(s)? We have local, state and federal governments involved, and different branches and agencies of each, not to mention different individuals with different values in each. Some are on the side of law and Constitution, some are on the side of order and public safety, some are on the side maintaining their position, power, and/or pensions; and some change sides as the wind blows.
“The First Amendment guarantees my right to peaceably assemble,”
Only from denial by the “government” of that right, and, from a narrow interpretation of the Amendment, for the purpose of “petition(ing) their(your) representatives for redress of grievances.” Which seems to have been ignored in this incident by all levels of government involved. (Except the court which restored the original demonstrators parade and demonstration permit when the city tried to unilaterally revoke it.)
It doesn’t guarantee that someone will not take offense at your expression of your views and attack you; that guarantee comes from other, even more basic rights and the responsibility of the government to protect those rights, which are usually described as public safety and order, “keeping the King’s Peace’, in the language of the old English Common Law. And that, too, seems to have been ignored in this incident by all levels of government involved.
“Where does this violence end?” It will end with the only persons able to speak their minds being the ones who are willing to fight, literally and physically, for their right to do so.
When will this stop? When those who start the violence get their heads handed to them for doing so. Either by the government (police) or the persons whom they attack.
The left expected Hillary to have disarmed us by now so they could focus on the 5 protections in the First Amendment. Speech, Press, Worship, Assembly and Redress of Grievance. But even though we are still armed, they are proceeding with an all out attack anyway, and the ignorant cannon fodder has no clue.
There's no such thing as a discussion with a leftist, if you're a conservative. It's a fruitless pastime I gave up long ago.
