Even lefty Seymour Hersh agrees that the Russian fable begin in the mind of Obama’s CIA director.
One wouldn’t expect Seymour Hersh, a lefty journalist par excellance, to pop the Trump-Russia propaganda balloon Obama’s CIA director John Brennan released last year. But he has. Hersh has been quoted as saying that the collusion claim is a product of “disinformation” — “a Brennan operation,” as he puts it.
Hersh says that Trump is not the villain but the victim in this story, and that the press has served as a shameful stenographer for Brennan to smear Trump. It has shown no skepticism toward any of his claims or the supposedly nonpartisan reports his cronies and political hacks assembled after the election. Hersh calls Brennan an “asshole” and a “buffoon.”
Indeed, it tells you all you need to know about the rottenness of the ruling class that such an open fraud could rise so high in Washington. Brennan, owing to his treasonous support for the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War (he voted for Gus Hall and supported the Soviet-controlled American Communist Party in the 1970s), should not have been allowed within a hundred-mile radius of Langley. Instead, he was hired and rose to the top of the CIA.

Most of the analytic side of the CIA is waaay more liberal than most people suspect.

well because for long time it was taken for granted in many quarters there at the CIA that eventually, yes, Marxism was the future and it would win.
THAT is why they were surprised.
Brennan fit right in, there, and he was not so exceptional at all.
Brennan is not obama’s “ pride and joy”
He is a fixer
He has been put into place as and where needed to keep obama on track, cover his past, probably to arrange the elimination of any obstacles or adversaries - by whatever means
And not just obama
Who is above Brennan and directing and covering him - has never been questioned or investigated

He is not a Muslim convert (He just your standard liberal atheist on things religious!) but he is an extreme Islamophile. In some ways he is similar to Lawrence of Arabia on his affinity to the Arabic/Islamic world with the same problems and none of the virtues. Remember the Foreign Office’s main complaint about Lawrence was they couldn’t tell what side he was on!

Sy Hersh is turning out to be an old-style muckraker. He churned out yellow journalism in support of the Soviets, ChiComs and Viet Cong, back in the day. Perhaps he’s discovered that he, too, was played, along with everyone else. Or maybe, he’s old enough to not care that he now has a target on his back.
It may be fun to watch the present day Swamp and Sy in a cage match. There are a lot of old-fashioned leftists in the Bernie camp and even a few in the Hillary contingent. If Sy is treated to the prog SOP, they will back him. Sy knows where a lot of real and metaphorical bodies are buried.
Brennan expected to stay on quasi permanently.
At least Seymour Hersh did some great work pulling some more bricks out of the Camelot myth with his book, THE DARK SIDE OF CAMELOT. Some truth seems to eventually seep in to Hersh.
