When the going gets tough, the tough get going. It makes them stronger yet. That is the process for getting ahead when you are an underdog.

Also, knowing who you are in Christ makes you unshakeable. If God be for you, who can be against you?

It did not happen to you. It probably did not happen to your mother either.

Interesting perspective. What has happened to me and to my mother seems to be the common lot of humanity. We, however, have anesthesia, antibiotics, and air conditioning, which is NOT the common lot.

Glamour just did an interview with Rachel Madcow.

Made me yearn for the days when MTV played music videos, HBO played actual movies, and Glamour feature actually good-looking women.

Yes, and you probably don't talk about it all the time.

Some people think "The Airing of the Grievances" should be a year around thing and that everything should be brought up all over again.

Yes, they tried to keep Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell out of medical school in 1847. But when they put the question to a vote the entire male student body voted to let her in.

It was 170 years ago.

Now, nobody cares if you are a female in medical school.

Learn the history. Let go of the grudge.

We were just discussing this sort of thing, in the context of the unpleasant events in Charlottesville. When people decide that everything bad in their lives is someone else’s fault, the chance of their being destructive people increases, especially if they congregate.

On the other hand, if people decide that their problems result from their own bad decisions, or from randomness and entropy, then they will improve what they can and shrug at the rest. *drink*

In summary, either you’re a Grievance Person or you’re not.
