The report is reflective of the reality that “fixing” the body most of the time does not produce and end to and long term real happiness, when what is wrong all along is an obsession in the mind from mental errors resulting in identity dysphoria.
I can’t see how sex (genital) “reassignment” surgery can be totally successful after multiple such surgeries. It is never a total success, requires lifelong hormone treatments and other techniques to support what the body, no matter what, recognizes as a WOUND.
The original WOUND is in the mind, and giving into it it requires mutilation of the body, to satisfy an obsessive obtained while the individual is very immature. What adult thinks supporting childhood obsessions is preferable to the compassionate but hard slog of helping the child over come them?
