A kindergarten teacher missing from Modesto has been found alive, her father confirmed Friday.

Jamie Tull was found Friday morning by family and friends who went looking for her near where her car was found crashed in Merced County....

...

Tull was about half a mile east of the crash site in Le Grand. Her phone was found near a water trough where cattle drink.

"We saw her moving," Tull's step cousin Lynn Garber said. "And we said, 'It looks like she’s alive,' and she says, 'I’m alive.'"

Tull's father said she was sunburned and dehydrated, but alert enough to speak. She was flown to a hospital in Fresno.

The three people who found Tull said she could barely move because of her severe sunburns. She apparently survived by drinking from that trough and eating insects.

Weird:

“The Merced County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone who sees Tull to contact police immediately. Deputy Daryl Allen said to avoid contact with Tull. “

“Jamie Tull hasn’t been heard from since shortly after she crashed. Tull’s husband, Apollo Tull, told The Modesto Bee his wife called him in tears, saying “I’m not going to see you again.” Soon afterwards, Jamie drove off the road, into fences and a cattle gate. After the crash she told her husband where she was.”

“Jamie Tull was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 10 years ago following a traumatic incident. She was considered high functioning when taking her medication, according to FOX 40. Tull taught kindergarten at Woodrow Elementary School in Modesto and planned to transfer to another school the following year.”

And then you see the bit that she wasn’t taking her psych meds because her preacher said they caused demons. . .

I’d like to hear the pastor’s side of that story.

I worked with a guy...passed out one night from too much booze and hit his head severely on the floor. Spent three weeks in the hospital, and when they released him...he started acting weird. Took the doctors about a year to lay it out....he was now bi-polar.

With medication...he was somewhat normal, but they put him on disability (all before age 40).

Any relation to Jethro? Hard to get an aqua lung when you’re dehydrated out in the sun.

I saw Tull several times in Detroit in the 70’s. I also met Ian Anderson and some of the guys when they were in suburban DC for a show. We got to the venue and the show was cancelled. I had read that the Stones stayed at Holiday Inns (how long ago was that?) and figured if the Stones did it, maybe Tull did it as well.

When we rolled up, the guys were in the parking lot. Long story short, got to have some 1 on 1 time and autographs. They were there, but the equipment truck had broken down on the way, ergo, no show.

Poor woman. It’s hard to comprehend she would live outdoors, no shelter, eating insects and drinking cattle trough water for WEEKS. The Modesto area isn’t like the wilds you find in interior western states.

“According to Tull’s father, she has bipolar disorder. He says she had not taken her medication for about six months because a pastor and his wife told her that pills lead to demons.”

My exwife had bipolar disorder and not taking medication will guarantee to lead to demons.

What crappy reporting!

WEEKS? ...how many? When did she crash, when was her car found, what kind of searches were performed, how far was she from the road, or from civilization?

This could be interesting, but instead it's nothing more than what they use to make those click bait stories.

That’s some odd stuff; wandering for 17 days and apparently didn’t want to be found. I hope she gets better.
