I haven’t gone to a grocery store (except for a last minute one item purchase) in at least six months. I don’t know if Shipt is national yet, but Shipt is basically the Uber of personal shopping. For a tiny annual fee and a tip, you get someone to do your shopping for you and deliver it to your front door. I’ve used it two dozen times at least and have one difficult experience where the shopper didn’t seem to understand different cuts of meat at all. One email later, I had a large credit on my account.
The neat thing is, once you make your list, the items are saved forever. So, if once a month, you are going to make a paleo version of pad thai with a butternut squash, all the ingredients are just a click away.
It is unbelievably convenient to have all your groceries delivered at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. It’s really remarkable how much time it frees up on a weekend.
I tend to meal plan and do a lot of cooking and freezing/storing on weekends. I’ve gotten the entire process done by 2 PM on Saturdays lately. That’s generally when I would actually finally be able to head to the grocery store in the first place.
I use the Blue Apron service. Highly recommended.
