WASHINGTON With their bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act in tatters, Senate leaders on Tuesday pushed to vote on a different measure that would repeal major parts of President Barack Obamas health law without a replacement but that plan appeared also to collapse.

There is quite a bit Trump and the head of HHS could do to more or less make Obamacare null and void. There are thousands of statements in the bill that leave it to the discretion of the head of HHS. Obama made a lot of decisions on stuff hisself.
I can’t figure out why Tom Price, I think that’s who is head of HHS, and Trump don’t more or less dismantle it piece by piece. They could. That’s the way most of it was put together.
Keep in mind Freepers this is The NY Times. So that automatically means it’s fake news.
Ryancare 2.0 failed yesterday. The Republicans now are talking full repeal finally!
Anyhow, the NY Times wishful thinking is that the full repeal is already dead. I would not put a lot of stock into what the NY Times hopes is the case.
Remember these names when the narrative becomes President Trump didn't keep his campaign promise.
He kept them in session to try to fix the healthcare disaster and got a thorough backstabbing.
See, if the TEA party stayed with it instead of getting too political and then performing a vanishing act, Trump could have announced a new party and his 62 million vote base, support candidates coming from the TEA party.
It will never happen as long as they keep sending money to the states to pay for Medicaid.
Can’t congress just not pay for and the agencies not enforce obamacare, and just let it collapse faster?
He may end up doing that.
That would work, and congress not bail out the insurance companies, Medicaid expansion, etc.
Executive Order replacing all healthcare plans for federal employees with their pick of Obamacare plans. All branches of government. Immediately. Watch the gridlock vanish.
No, this bill would keep obamacare for two years.
Republicans have run for years on repealing 0care. We gave them majorities in the House and Senate and the WH so they could do just that. They can’t manage to get anything done. Can’t even get their own party together enough to shepherd something through to the President’s desk.
Doing nothing until 0care explodes may be the only option left, but that failure to act is on them. If I hire a guy to fix a broken gas pipe and he does nothing until my house burns down, you better believe I’m gonna give that guy his share of the blame.
Have the vote done. Let the RINO’s go on record as opposing repeal so we can repeal them in the primaries!
Works for me too, but if congress still bails out Medicaid and the insurance companies and continues enforces the taxes and business rules, it won’t fail as quickly.
Few freepers bought McConnels BS. The guy is a grand standing liar.
The Senate is bursting with them.
The individual mandate needs to go.
The nation did just fine without a federal individual mandate in 2013, 2012 and 2011. Obviously, it was (and is) unnecessary.
We can deal with Medicaid problems after freeing the nations people from the unconstitutional and improper individual mandate.
“Trump: Im going to just let Obamacare fail and the dems can own it, not me.
I felt that way months ago-——let them own it.
.
Exactly! In my opinion, anyone that can’t understand that the problem with where we are is that the Republican party is not right wing enough and would vote for leftists instead of continuing to force the party right is working against us.
They PASSED the repeal bill through both houses back when they KNEW Obama would veto it. Now that they have the WH, too...
Just the latest evidence that the GOP establishment are self-serving, despicable POLITICIANS who couldn’t care less about the greatest nation on earth.
They ONLY care about reelection and punching their ticket on the GRAVY TRAIN in DC.
Have you gotten to the "I quit voting forever" stage yet?
