$1.19 is the most change you can have in your pocket without being able to give exact change for $1.00 ... 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies.

Since 1945, every single substance on earth is contaminated by radioactive isotopes produced by the nuclear detonations.

The only material on earth that can be used for the walls of a radiation contamination detection room - which must eliminate all stray radioactivity, including cosmic radiation - is battleship steel, since all battleship steel was rolled/cast prior to 1945.

“Polish” and “polish” are the only words in the English language that change BOTH pronunciation AND meaning merely by capitalizing the first letter.

‘A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds.’

This idiotic myth needs to die. Whoever came up with it must have been working with a dead fish.

Live goldfish have excellent memories. They learn to recognize faces. They get excited when they see the familiar face that feeds them. Initially wild, fearful goldfish will settle down and eventually swim eagerly toward the person who consistently feeds them. ***They can be taught to perform tricks.*** If they are consistently fed in the same location of the tank or pond, that is where they will swarm at feeding time.

I could go on. But the point is, the 3 second memory myth is moronic. It needs to stop being repeated, period.

The cruise liner, QE2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns.
The QE2 is diesel powered???

Didn’t know that (it was converted from steam in 1987).

If you start with a simple penny and double it for 30 days you will end up with $5,368,709.12 (5 million, 368 thousand, 709 dollars & 12 cents).

***Al Capone’s business card said he was a used furniture dealer.***

That’s funny. Wasn’t that the same thing that Obama’s maternal grandfather had on his business card in Hawaii or maybe Kansas? I’ve always been astounded that he could afford to send Obama to the Punahou School.

A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.

Nope, they live for many months. Must have meant "fruit flies".
