Downward Spiral: Megyn Kelly Hits New Viewership Low

How low is the floor for Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly’s ratings? When it comes to Kelly, absence did not make the heart grow fonder. Kelly’s show returned from a week off last night and hit another new low in total viewers. Her show could not even get more viewers than a years-old rerun of Dateline that ran the week before during the Fourth of July holiday weekend when many television viewers were not even in their homes.

I wonder if she realizes this might be it. She is rapidly losing her looks.

She was doing fine until that fateful night when she showed her true colors.

Somewhere along the line she acquired a very hard look. Few things age a woman more. Softness equates with youth. Soft, smooth skin; soft, shiny hair; a soft expression. She has none of these anymore. Instead, she projects a hard, brittle quality that is off-putting.

Kelly used to be quite cute - a rather young, fresh face and quite attractive. In a few short years she has turned into a hardened, weathered, tough gal.

She made a very silly and serious decision to advance herself. She thought she’d endear herself to the left by bashing Candidate Trump. What she didn’t think through was that the left was never going to accept a Fox girl. She burned her bridges after moving into enemy territory.

The first debate.the first question. Hated her from then on and never looked back.

This all could have been avoided if she had a big strong man to mansplain things to her.

Respectfully, I don't think this has anything to do with looks. She was once thought of as a fair-minded journalist on Fox, who at least wasn't wantonly anti-conservative. She was disliked by the left, if for no other reason than she was on Fox. Now she is dependent upon viewership from the same people who couldn't stand her when she was on Fox. It was always unlikely she was going to be embraced by them. She could have been grateful for what she'd achieved, and worked hard to be a better and more fair-minded journalist, but her head got way too big - like so many media personalities.

Regarding ‘losing her looks’, in my opinion this is not aging, but is a product of her choice to embrace a harder look.

Megyn Kelly, which I’ve said before, followed Bill O’Reilly as part of a one-two Fox lineup in prime time. O’Reilly actually helped Kelley along by interviewing her on his show and promoting her show which came up next. Megyn got caught up
in her hype and started shopping around ... NBC took the bait to the tune of $17 million and got screwed big time. Megyn Kelly is proving to be a major & humiliating bust for NBC.
