My city rounds are expanding rounds like Hydro Shock, but mine are Speer Gold Dot hollow points. The hard cast lead don’t deform, but cause damage from the wide, flat nose. These may penetrate 3 feet of bear while the self defense ammo may only penetrate 8-10 inches in a bear and not hit anything vital. That is why I change ammo between city and my home next to the Roosevelt National Forest in the Colorado Rockies.

If you can get the hind legs and fling it by there. Very painful. Also pig wreslers get on back of pig and slide arms under forelegs and join hand at the neck and split legs apart to break them

Because wasp spray has nerve agents precursors to things like Sarin gas

The weakest part of a dog is the back legs. If you can wrap your legs around the dog (if bigger), or somehow get to the back legs and pull them sharply, they will come out of socket, especially on German Shepherds. Fight over. Stomp the dog to death after that.

Yeah I was thinking a .45 which is what I carried to the mail box when my idiot neighbors had a loose aggressive pit bull. Fortunately it crossed the rainbow bridge....

OK, that sounds like a decent plan and I will try to remember it.

That seems like a lot of work while getting bit. I’m adverse to physical exertion while having my skin and muscle ripped apart, call me lazy, but I’ll stick to a firearm.

It has been a long time since I read about it but the U.S. military special forces used to have a pistol/cartridge combination they called “the hush puppy”.

It was designed to carry a silencer and take out sentries etc. and of course barking dogs. I think the first ones were S&W model 39 pistols heavily modified to carry a silencer and take Browning Hi-Power mags.

Of course they used heavy bullet non-supersonic loads. Maybe used sub machine guns too but my memory is getting old.

It was the neighbor’s dog. he had gotten loose and bit a kid down the street.

My Dad wasn’t going to allow that dog to bite one of his children, so he was going to capture the dog and return it to its backyard.

The dog growled and having already bit one kid, my Dad pounced on it.

You have to hit them in the eyes with the wasp spray, it will blind them. You cant do a body hit and inhaling it isnt the same as inhaling pepper spray.

That isnt totally true. If they allergies to peppers or have asthma they can die from inhaling it. These extreme exceptions of course, you wouldnt know about beforehand unless for some reason you knew the person.

Kinda like right guard spray and a lighter, permanent damage.

And who among us didnt experiment with that when younger and immortal?

You never know if a dog owner would see you charging his dog who technically hasnt attacked you yet, and shoot you. People have been shot by weirdos for far less.

I mean i like the idea but some dog owners would do that.
