New Study Finds That Coconut Oil Isn't Healthy

A new study shows that coconut oil isn’t as healthy as many believed it was. In fact, it’s not healthy at all.

According to the American Heart Association, a recent survey showed that 72 percent of Americans surveyed rated coconut oil as a “healthy food,” compared to 37 percent of nutritionists.

The report went on to say that the saturated fat content of coconut oil is 82 percent, which is the bad type of fat. A chart in the document shows that coconut oil has more saturated fat than lard, canola oil or even butter.

The results of a study conducted by the AHA show that coconut oil increases LDL cholesterol and has "no known offsetting favorable effects." The AHA concluded that they advise against the use of coconut oil.

Olive oil and vegetable oil are considered to be better alternatives.

25 years ago coconut oil was ver unhealthy. Then it became healthy. Now it’s bad for you again.

So, which is it, really?

Coconut oil has very high saturated fat content. Sedentary people cannot handle high saturated fat. Most people are sedentary. Thus, coconut oil is not good for most people.

NBC says so, that’s why.

Maybe they don’t want you to believe it’s healthy.

There are two kinds of saturated fats, trans-fat and cis-fat.

Cis-fats are the natural kind of saturated fats, and there is no right-angle twist in the aliphatic chain. Trans-fats are formed by hydrogenating unsaturated aliphatic chains, and wind up with a right-angle kink in the aliphatic chain, which is stored on the body, but cannot be utilized later for energy purposes. It is the kind of stubborn fat that can NEVER be exercised or starved off the fat stores deposited throughout the body.

But most people would not have any way of knowing that.

You do not want soy or corn oil or any oil with a lot of Omega-6 fats. They are pro-inflammation. We need some, but get too much.

Saturated fats are healthier because they allow your body to create stable membranes. They also take much longer to go rancid.

All the rest of the world shows studies supporting saturated fats as now being healthier. Our AHA tells us the best thing you could do is eat margarine.

They are blind to the better research.

By the way, low-carb dieters get excellent blood test results.

“Use olive oil.”

Most so called olive oil in the market is just fake oil anyway.

Well, “with good diet and exercise”, you can eat dirt and still be healthy.

LOL

I learned, from my mother’s following “health food” advice from various sources, pretty much to ignore it.

When I heard about coconut oil and how great it was supposed to be, my first thought was “yeah, right”.
