Yikes...and I happen to own one! This one was parked alongside a bus station.
I hope it was a Prius...
Question is...what exploded? Gas tank or battery pack?
OTOH, it shows all those movie explosions aren’t so ridiculous as people claim. Did you see the way that explosion totally engulfed the guy? He totally could’ve done the shockwave-surfing jump from the movies!
Prius’s are great cars.
That’s going to leave a bigger carbon footprint than my Rubicon ever will.
It’s what I was driving that day....
Our first prius caught on fire. It was sitting in our driveway. After church, I noticed the windows were all black, and I thought kids had painted the windows.
I opened it up and smoke was pouring out of it.
The back seat was melted. It was all burned out on the inside.
I’m thankful that it was parked outside. My son’’s room is above our garage. Scaring to think if I hadn’t caught it.
My husband still got another Prius. I will not let him park it inside.
I don’t see how that guy survived.
Some people only need one brick to the head.
Others apparently need more.
I’d be thankful it was parked and empty. You could have out with the family, “Cruisin’ down the freeway in the hot, hot sun, suddenly” the thing overheats and starts burning and melting things.
I know! The worst part was where the kids sit. Scary!
I like our Prius V, had it two years.
Lowest maintenance & operating cost of any car on the road.
In a few years it may move into the #1 spot of my most favorite rides, passing my beloved Suburbans.
Pls tell us about the cost benefits of your ride?
>I dont see how that guy survived.
It was a slow deflagaration. Looked to have some heat gear on for the btu component. Hair was likely singed in spots.
I don’t recognize the language being spoken...
It doesn’t explode.
The movie explosions are from gasoline powered vehicles. I’ve heard from more than one firefighter, that doesn’t happen. Batteries on the other hand...
I’d never own one
In later models there is a mesh filter which is easier to clean (one bolt...below the plastic grid air intake at base of passenger side RHS seat trim)....it also clogs up.
No, but they are instantly engulfed in flames when the gas tank ruptures.
