I remember when the N word was OK to say but other words so vile, would get you taken out behind the bar and some sense knocked into you as you were then considered lower than white trash.
Now the N word is so vile it is not to be spoken but those other words are commonly used on TV, movies and in common speech by what we used to call “white trash” and other low lifes. Like Democrats in California.
I’ve been around long enough to remember when that word was used by everyone, both black and white, and had no meaning other than to mean you were referring to a black person, but one day it became a word only black people could use and white people were forbidden to use it.
Did the meaning of the word suddenly change? If so, what does it now mean if it no longer can be used simply in reference to a black person? If the word now means something so terrible that white people are forbidden to use it in any connotation, why is it black people are free to use the word any time they please? What is so terrible about that word that black people have avoided being charged with murder simply because they claimed their white victim had called them that forbidden word?
Does this word now have a meaning it didn’t have in the past, or has it simply become a “control” issue where blacks can tell whites what they can say and what they can’t say?
He can send Kathy Griffin to get it. She’s a seasoned ISIS thug.
Gotta love the RATS eating themselves.
Not defending Maher, but I’m getting tired of this magic boogie man word that white people simply are not allowed to say, even thougb it was never in common use among mixed comlany. You wamt the word to fade from use? Stop using it. And pull your pants up.
That’s right Al. All those “greek homos” and “punk faggots” (both terms uttered from the execrable maw of Rev Al) should be banned from saying “neighbor.” All the blacks who call each other neighbor and every other race neighbor are A OKAY!!!
Well, Bill, look on the bright side: if you lose your HBO gig, you can say the N-word all day long at home!
“On the other hand, any lover of the first amendment should be appalled. Bill Maher is a vile human being given to saying horrible things, mostly for shock value. But he is a poster child for what the first amendment is all about. Free speech is free speech, even if it is hateful speech. We do not preserve freedom of expression for the sort that we find comfortable with, but for the kind that makes us mad.”
I don’t agree with what Maher said, but might think about defending free speech in his case if the left actually defended it instead of going on an all-out war against it. The left is completely against free speech. It clearly wants only itself to be able to speak and be heard. So the more of them that whose speech is targeted, the better. That’s the only thing that will make them think about defending true free speech to some extent.
He gets paid for the leftist propaganda he spouts, regardless of the number of viewers
Yup! Pass the butter!
Really? Wow. How long ago was that?
When I was a little kid in the '60s, my mom told me everyone used to call them "n***** toes" but the proper term was "Brazil nuts." (I've told my kids the same thing. It's history.)
Unlike my dad, I don't recall she ever verbalized anything racist in my presence.
I ma no fan of Bill Maher but Sharpton can GFH!
Over 5 years but probably less than 10.

I suppose it is fair to say that if a black person used that word around a white person and the white person complained it might have the same outcome. Might. At least at this particular facility which you know well.
