When pumping gas - always remove your keys and lock the door.

One reason I miss my Ford Explorer - lock the doors and use the keypad to re-enter.

. . . which forced Smith to jump into her moving vehicle and break it before it crashed. I hate it when I break my car. That's almost as bad when I see an article with no editor helping the writer.

The writer was probably watching the video as she typed and may have been thinking “She’s going to break her back’.
Very poor editing - I agree.

Yes - pure adrenalin.
There have been too many horror stories involving small children being in hijacked cars. Everyone needs to be more alert to potential tragedy.....in and out of a vehicle.

I worked with a man in Alaska who jumped on the hood of a woman’s (prostitute’s) car to keep her from leaving. He had just got out of the shower and it was in the dead of winter. He had a rough time removing himself. Alaska in the ‘70s was a pretty interesting place.

“When pumping gas - always remove your keys and lock the door. “
Just the other day I pulled into the local station to fill up. Across the island was a young lady filling up some nondescript car. When I got out of my evil SUV I punched the door locks and shut the door. The young lady asked “Why do you do that?” I responded “Security.” She said good idea and then opened her door activated her locks and slammed the door. Then said “Shit my keys are in there!” We had a good laugh and my slim jim recovered her keys and I made a new friend and spread a little security info. Good day.

This is about the fourth time I have read “break” when they meant “brake” on various forums. I think you are correct - spell check approves. The trouble is, they might be a great mechanic, but when they write stuff like “The most important thing about changing your breaks is....” I stop reading.

Precisely. think about it- Gas stations are the perfect location for car thieves.
Driver is out of the vehicle.
The keys are probably inside.
It has, or will have a full tank of fuel.
The vehicle is in working order.
Cars moving around, no-one paying attention.

How did you use your slim jim? I have one but can’t get newer cars opened like I could older cars.

which forced Smith to jump into her moving vehicle and break it before it crashed. Broke it to keep it from crashing? Had to destroy the village to save it!
