Very sad news. He was very good as the Vice President on 24.

And briefly (in "Redemption") President Noah Daniels. simply outstanding.

I read the book second.

It was somewhat dismal.

BTW - I meant that the PLOT was somewhat dismal [as in a "downer", as compared to the plot of the movie], not the writing.

The writing was good.

I thought he was very memorable as Johnny Walker in the 1990 made-for-TV movie Family of Spies.

He was from Snyder TX about 22 miles from here. Interesting bit of trivia, he holds the record for the longest drive in any celebrity golf tournament at over 450 yards. This according to Wiki.

Deadwood was the best. He was Swearengens opponent.

Red Dawn.

"Southern Comfort" even before that. An old one but a good one. It's the first movie I saw him in.

RIP Curly Bill.

He was fantastic as Philip Marlowe in the HBO series “Philip Marlow, Private Eye” back in the 1980’s.

I agree...he was a great Marlowe. RIP

First time I saw him was on broadcast network TV ~ 1980 playing Jim Jones in a two part TV mini-series.

He was quite convincing in it.
