Fast forward to my 38th birthday. I was still single, and the world of dating had changed significantly in the last eight years. Tinder and Bumble, the dominant dating apps, offered countless options for single men and women, but made the experience of dating entirely impersonal.
Dating amounted to small talk with a stranger, who you had briefly interfaced with online because you each thought the other attractive. The small talk was a prelude to hooking up, and there were no expectations even of a text the next day.
It was brutal. And after trying my hand at it, I was no closer to finding the love of my life or starting a family. If I needed statistics to back me up, I had them. In 2014, marriage was on the decline, as was the fertility rate in the United States.
I had one real option left -- and that was to attempt to get pregnant alone.

Very sad but true description of the situation. It isn’t true for all women, or all men. I think men should really talk to their girlfriends about their fears re marriage, and definitely find a woman with a naturally high sex drive from the start, and one who is happy with her man’s private time, before marrying. And read between the lines to weed out superficial women. The ones who are acting like their wedding day is their big moment and they are the Star of the Show, etc, do not marry. Superficial women will not be able to handle real life. If your gf ever reminds you of a kardashian or an old Seinfeld episode, dump her. You want someone with depth enough to handle real life and still continue the love affair forever. Another reason to not marry a lib woman because they have clearly no deep discernment. If you haven’t converted her to conservatism (because she may never have been exposed, so she may need some help), forget her.
You are right and it starts in college with the kangaroo court system for sexual assault. Girls admit that they report guys for rape to get back at them for not staying the next morning to cuddle (true case, son’s friend) and the boys get suspended for a year.
Normal male female camaraderie and banter is being played as sexual assault. Try calling someone gorgeous. The current political & social climate is poisonous to intimacy because instead of free speech/”sticks & stones will hurt my bones but words will never harm me” we have hate speech “if it makes me feel bad”. We have become a Nation of ninnies.

I've seen actual research showing a negative correlation between expense of wedding and duration of marriage. A woman who wants a huge wedding (relative to her husband's actual income) is less likely to be satisfied with any actual mere mortal.
No, there's not someone for everyone. Some people aren't fit for a relationship.

A lot of the fertility discussion here doesn’t include the truth. Fertility, 85% of it, is egg quality. The other 15% is the ability to make sperm or sperm quality, which is mostly good, and structural uterine problems. Egg quality begins when the woman was herself in utero. And it deteriorates over time. Today, though, the eggs are deteriorating much earlier and much faster than in our grandmothers’ time. It has nothing to do with us living longer, and probably not much to do with birth control of the individual.
Since young adult women who’ve never had children have had their uterine fluid tested and found nearly all to have Bisphenol A in their uteri, this new infertility epidemic is probably more due to environmental contamination. As with the other essential soft tissue epidemics we have these days: brain dysfunctions like Parkinson’s, autism, Alzheimer’s. We are screwing things up, and we don’t appear to care. Poisons like Round Up and Downey and neurotoxic food colorings are advertised daily on tv as though they are harmless.
Anyway, a woman’s egg quality remained at least 20% good until near her age 50, 200 years ago. Healthy babies were still born. Now, reproductive endocrinologists are finding women in their early 20s with only 50% of the eggs any good. I did a study like this. It’s shocking.

Significant P.S.: If Lapa had nursed all her children, she would almost certainly not have had 25. Full (night and day) nursing will generally provide an extended anovulatory period and space pregnancies 2 - 3 years apart, and maternal nursing optimizes their chances to survive and thrive.
Sadly, like many prosperous artisan women, Lapa employed a wetnurse, which meant both that she had pregnancies dangerously close together, and she lost a lot of her babies in infancy. Catherine was the only one of her children who received full maternal breastfeeding, which may have contributed to her being a blessed, a "Joy", and a genius.

Life is toughn for women, if women want to launch professional careers and get married and have children in their 20s. Many people graduate from college at 21 or 22 or 23. Then they may get a career path going. But within 4 or 5 years, the woman may find d she has to make some life choices as to where she goes from there.
It’s hard to combine a high powered professional career with children. Maybe more people both men and women, should think about these things, and not just assume they can put off children indefinitely.
How many young people nowadays place a high value on marriage and family as important life goals, as compared to career goals??? How many women especially at age 25, consider how they will balance it all???
