Dale Earnhardt Jr. will retire at the end of the season, Hendrick Motorsports has announced. Voted the sport's most popular driver for the last 14 seasons, Earnhardt began his career with a start at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May 1999. He has since accumulated 26 career wins, including two in the Daytona 500. He also captured a win in the All-Star Race as a rookie.

I pretty much bowed out after Dale Jarrett and Mark Martin retired. Still a casual observer but the intensity is not there anymore.
I didn't remember that quote but it doesn't move the needle for me in any direction.
My son wanted to put a confederate flag on his truck. I told him not to until he had asked a couple of his friends about their views on the confederate flag. He spoke to these two very impressive, young African-American men, both of whom are as a far from BLM-types as you can get. Afterward, my son came to me and told me he wasn't going to do it because he was afraid that it might bother them.
Ya mean Brainless took a RIDE-ALONG?
;)
Totally agree about Kyle Busch having the same determination as Dale Sr. Love Junior but I believe Dad sprinkled his magic, missing Dale Jr. and hitting Kyle :)
He has hardly ridden any coattails, not his fault who his father was and he is/was a pretty good driver in his own right.

I had lost a lot of interest in NASCAR over the last 4-5 years (particularly after Mark Martin retired), but I’ve followed Kyle Larson through his dirt track career (saw him whup the field at Eldora several times) and now I’m totally a fan.
i fly mine 24/7 my grandfather was a confederate soldier he wasn’t somebody i read about in a book iknew him lived util i was 20 yo.and anybody that don’t like can lump it.
You and your grandfather must each have had long lives. One hundred and sixty-seven years is a long time frame to stretch two lives over, particularly when there is a 20-year overlap. I assume your grandfather must have been born no later than 1850 or he wouldn’t been old enough to be a soldier in the Civil War.
he was born in 1848 bied in 1959 i was born in 1941.
Excellent. Hopefully, you’ll have a long life like your grandfather. You apparently have good genes.
thank you
Exactly! And besides Jr. has walked away from every Daytona in which he's ever raced.
