CNN)American Airlines is investigating after a video surfaced on social media showing a confrontation between a passenger and a flight attendant aboard one of its flights.

“Olivia Morgan was standing in the doorway of the aircraft with her 8-year-old daughter waiting to board when the altercation happened.
“The flight attendant wrestled the stroller away from the woman, who was sobbing, holding one baby with the second baby in a car seat on the ground next to her,” she said.
Morgan said the flight attendant was “violent” when taking the metal stroller from the woman and nearly hit the baby with the stroller.
“He stormed by me with the stroller and I said something like, ‘What are you doing? You almost hit that baby!’ And he yelled at me to ‘stay out of it!’ just like he does in the video,” she said.
Morgan said she talked to the woman about the incident. The woman said a female flight attendant told her she could look for space to store the stroller because it folds up very small, but if there was no available space, she would need to check it at the gate.
“She was looking for space when the male attendant tried to take it away from her… and she said she told him the other attendant had told her it was okay to look,” she said.
According to the American Airlines website, small strollers can be checked at the gate but there is no policy about strollers in the overhead bin.”

So it looks as if it was okay for her to have the pram on board.

Weekly reenforcement on my decision to limit flying with the airlines to an absolute minimum.

It doesn’t show what happened, but obviously some people are upset. I wondered if the big guy saw what happened. He sure had it for baldy.
Just what we need, a bunch of hyped up passengers wanting to be tough guys and start fights on planes.
Even if what United did was unacceptable, there seems to be a growing sense of insurrection on planes which will lead to lack of safety.
The passenger showed restraint I couldn’t have demonstrated. When that FA said “Go ahead, hit me” I’d have pounded his fat bald ass unconscious.
AA isn’t to blame here. This is the FA run amok. And you can take one thing to the bank, that FA’s UNION is SCREAMING at how unfairly their union member was treated. He’ll get a hearing, a hearing, a hearing on the hearings, a re-hearing, a hearing to condense the other hearings’ hearings, and a hearing before the NLRB on this hearings.
AA jumped on this one with both feet. The FA, we’ll call him Pudgezilla, has been removed from duty, the lady in question got upgraded to first class for the rest of her international trip, and I imagine some sort of cash compensation as well. They issued statements to the extent that they could given all of the union hearings that are cued up, and there will be directives and supplementary training within a week.
I have met sone of the most awesome, friendly, caring and unflappably professional FAs during my six years of near constant travel on Continental. I have personally witnessed boorish, unfeeling, my way or the highway behavior from FAs on UA and AA.
I’m headed from Chicago to Columbus, Ohio next week. I’m driving.
What I wouldn’t want is an altercation while in the air and a plane load of angry passengers.
Too much drama. The childish woman’s non-stop fake crying got old. Guaranteed to had been told something about the stroller and didn’t do it. Nobody just walked up and grabbed it violently out of the blue. Then the white knight mangina passenger had to puff his chest out and act tough.
Morons all.
obviously this woman staged the whole thing, expecting to win a big lawsuit ... according to half of all FReepers - the half that keeps posting that airline tickets are a contract that explicitly states that airline customers can be assaulted and brutalized by airlines employees or airport rent-a-cops to the full extent of the captain’s authority - or something.
Maybe the FA should have been kicked off the flight too. If I was the capt. I think I would have told him to get off of my plane and cool off.

Any incident wher a baby is almost harmed..I puff me chest out too....That’s instilled in me from birth....and if i wasn’t on a plane...I have an attitude adjuster...not a firearm.
Good choice. Hop off 465 at 38th St. in Indy and cut over to 65 and save a little time.
Partial video. From what is visible the FA was doing the opposite of de-escalating.He was quick to rush at the passenger and just as quick to throw his hands up and start backing up. I wouldn’t want the guy on my plane, he can’t seem to handle tension and pressure.
Absolutely. No one should speak up after seeing a male stewardess hit a woman in the head with a stroller.
This one, again, was completely mishandled by the airline stew. His job is for the comfort and safety of the passengers by the airlines and not to lose his composure thus either escalating or initiating a physical confrontation that could create an unsafe or hazardous result. His job is to make every effort to cool the situation down and take steps to keep everyone from acting in an unsafe way. By confronting, stepping at him, and pointing his finger at him, and trying to loudly and forcibly order the male passenger that had witnessed the actions of the mishandled action, and then goading him to start a violent act, he lost total control of the situation. He needs to be grounded or terminated.
I learned this from officiating sports for over 40 years at many levels. And any time you have to resort to threats that can escalate or create violence, you lost control and you blew it!!! Thje passenger shouldn’t have threatened him, but that could have been handled differently. He was not going to go past that until the stew goaded him and marshals could have been summoned.

Remember when the airlines required their Stewardess to be thin and even had them to do exercises during the day before take off?
Maybe they ought to do this again? Pudezilla needs about an hour of this before and after takeoff. Forget that send him to basic training in the Army then put him back on a flight if at all.
